The Army/American Council on Education Registry Transcript System (AARTS) has now transitoned to the Joint Services Transcript (JST). The JST is for Active, Reserve, and Veterans who serve/served with the Army, N...avy, Marine Corps, and Coa...st Guard. The Army/American Council on Education Registry Transcript System (AARTS) previously excluded officers and warrant officers; the JST covers all officers. The transcript record and validates recommended college credits for professional military education, training courses, and occupational experience. It supports the Military Occupation Codes crosswalk and college/university acceptance of credit recommendations.

There is discipline in A Soldier you can see it when he walks,
There is honor in A Soldier you hear it when he talks.
There is courage in A Soldier you can see it in his eyes,
There is loyalty in A Soldier that he will not compromise.
There is something in A Soldier that makes him stand apart,
There is strength in A Soldier that beats from his heart.
A Soldier isn't a title any man can be hired to do,
A Soldier is the soul of that man buried deep inside of you.
A Soldier's job isn't finished after an 8 hour day or a 40 hour week,
A Soldier is always A Soldier even while he sleeps.
A Soldier serves his country first and his life is left behind,
A Soldier has to sacrifice what comes first in a civilian's mind.
If you are civilian - I am saying this to you..... next time you see A Soldier remember what they do.
A Soldier is the reason our land is 'Home of the free',
A Soldier is the one that is brave protecting you and me.
If you are A Soldier - I am saying this to you.....
Thank God for EVERY SOLDIER Thank God for what YOU do!
IN CASE YOU MISSED-->ARMY TA PROGRAM REINSTATED: Effective 9 April 2013 at 2400 hours EDT the course enrollment functionality that Soldiers use to request Tuition Assistance will be reactivated. Shortly before midnight, we will run a program that will remove the hold that was placed on all Soldier record's to reactivate the "Request TA" smarl link. It will take about 30 to 60 minutes for the program to run and once it is completed all Soldiers who are eligible for TA will again be able to request TA. When TA functionality is reinstated tonight, the rules that governed the use of TA prior to the suspension, as well as the $250 semester hour cap and $4,500 fiscal year ceiling will remain in place throughout the rest of Fiscal Year 2013. If you have any questions please call your Army Education Center for more details.

IMPORTANT!!!!!!IMPORTANT:
NCOs who were considered by the FY13 CSM/SGM or SFC QSP boards convened in October-November 2012 (to be released in the next month) are advised that if they are going to transfer their Post 9/11 GI Bill benefits to Family Members, they need to do so... before the QSP list is approved on 31 Jan 13. The act of transferring the benefit comes with an active duty service obligation. After 31 Jan 13, by law, those who are identified to retire through QSP can't begin a transfer to Family members.
They can visit the Transfer of Education Benefits (TEB) web-page at https://www.dmdc.osd.mil/milconnect to submit their transfer request NLT 31 Jan 13 if they desire to but have not yet done so. Regular Army Soldiers should also contact their servicing career counselor or installation/post retention office if they have

"USASMA Quote O' The Day"
"If a man hasn't discovered something that he will die for, he isn't fit to live."
- Martin Luther King, Jr
As I sit idle…after a Christmas feast fit for a King or Queen…realizing… as I look at my family…that I am indeed BLESSED! No Class 58 friends & family…I don’t take this day for granted, nor do I forget the men and women who sacrifice so much so that I may feel this ...peace within my peace. Praying for our troops that cannot be with loved ones, and praying that He give their families the strength to carry on without them. Happy Holidays…and praying that you all have a SAFE New Year!
The voice of the Soldier has been heard: the Army announced the patrol cap will replace the black wool beret as the default headgear for the Army combat uniform. Also changing are the options for how Soldiers can attach certain items to their ACU shirts. Soldiers will soon be able to sew on name tapes, service tapes, rank insignia and skill badges, instead of using Velcro! How do you feel about the changes?
