Catholic Foundation Announces Partnership with FreeWill

By writing a will, you can protect the people you love and get peace of mind for the year ahead. That's why the Catholic Foundation is partnering with FreeWill, a social venture featured in Forbes, The New York Times and Oprah’s 31 Best Ways to Make a Difference — to provide a new resource to the community: a free tool to write a legal will.

The new year is a moment for prayer and resolution, and to set priorities for the year ahead. In that spirit, we want to introduce a new resource, and resolution, that is easy for our Catholic community to keep: protecting your blessings by writing a legal will. It's 100% free.

The Diocese of El Paso is working with the El Pasoans Fighting Hunger food bank to make deliveries to the elderly, homebound, and disabled people on the east side. Deliveries are made in a safe contact less manner and take about an hour to take despensas to 5 homes. We are in need of 120 drivers.
Would you be willing to help about 1 hour a week for 8 weeks?

"If peace and love are not allowed to take their rightful place at the table of negotiation, then hatred and anger will produce a conflict that will continue for many years to come. It will solve nothing and thousands of innocent lives will be lost. I ask you all to pray for peace which is such an urgent priority." — Mother Teresa

El Paso seminarians César García and Sergio Legarreta completed a pastoral year at St. Paul the Apostle and San Judas Tadeo, respectively, and took over social media technology to evangelize during this unprecedented time. Wilbert Colas and Alfonso Coronado were ordained to the diaconate in August and our newest priest, Fr. Iván Montelongo, is studying canon law. In 2021, five men are set to be ordained to the diaconate in preparation to become priests in 2022. This is all possible because of your donations to the Seminarian Education Endowment Fund. #2020vision #seminarians #pray4priests #catholiclegacyfund #CatholicFoundationFam

“Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.” — Matthew 11:28-30

Our Story

We have much to celebrate and even more to be grateful for. From a start-up Foundation in 2001, the Foundation has grown to be a philanthropic leader in our community with more $19 million in assets. Since 2001, the Catholic Foundation has raised $18 million for endowment and now manages 101 separate endowed funds to provide continual resources for years to come. The Foundation for the Diocese of El Paso is an independent 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization.

The Foundation manages five programs: the Catholic Legacy Fund, the Foundation’s endowment program; Progress, the Catholic Ministry Appeal which provides operational funds for diocesan ministries; and the Grants Development Office which seeks foundation and corporate grants for ministries, schools, and parishes. In addition to that, the Foundation promotes Stewardship as a way of life and the principles “Pray, Serve, Give” through training and materials for schools and parishes. Finally, there is the Foundation’s Scholarship Program, which supports the education of Foundation Scholars attending El Paso’s Catholic schools every year.

Thank you so much for being a part of our extended family. During these uncertain times, there is one thing that hasn't and won't change: our commitment to improving the lives of people in the Diocese of El Paso. Your unwavering generosity, especially during this extraordinary time, is an inspiration. Thank you for your support!

Its that time of year once again when we begin to think about our New Year’s Resolutions. Resolving to pray the rosary daily would be a wonderful resolution to consider! A good way to help keep the resolution spark alive is to have a special rosary that looks and feels great in your hand. We offer rosaries made from a number of natural materials with a variety of bead sizes and weights…. Some feel very substantial and some are very light weight. We have a rosary to suit almost everyone. Take a look at our many offerings, and make the resolution to pray the rosary each day in 2021 and for decades to come!
What a wonderful, well organized and successful event!!! We were all blessed to have Matt perform and to honor a great example of a faithful Catholic family. Thanks to all who planned and executed such a fun evening!!
