**If you need to contact your Soldier while we're at NTC**Your Diamondbacks will be at the National Training Center for the next 30-50 days. Some of that time they will not have their phones available, other times the cell service is just terrible. If there's an emergency and you need to get in contact with your Diamondback, please contact the American Red Cross. Let them know your Soldier is in Delta Company, 2nd Brigade Engineer Battalion, which is in the 3rd Armored brigade combat team, of the 1ST Armored Division, and they will be able to relay the message to the Company Commander and First Sergeant, to be able to get the message through. --Pictures of our awesome UAS Top Gun team for attention-- -Diamondback 7
Over the last several weeks, the Diamondbacks have been busy getting all of our equipment ready to travel to NTC to conduct 30 days of some of the most realistic and challenging training that the Army has to offer. Most of it is traveling by train and some is traveling on a semi truck. This last month has been rough, but the training cannot get any better. -Diamondback 7

The Army says that everyone must take a record Army Combat Fitness test before 1 April 2023, so the Diamondbacks made it happen. The Soldiers rose to the occasion through a series of ACFTs given over a span of two weeks to give everyone a chance to take the test with our busy schedule. Some mornings had great weather and a fantastic sunrise and others not so much unfortunately. Great job everyone for the dedication to duty this tests requires. -Diamondback 7

Absolutely amazing and exciting day for the Diamondbacks today as SSG Ayala took his final oath of enlistment this morning from 2LT Kenkel to reenlist indefinitely. SSG Ayala started as a Marine in 2006 and has carried on his commitment to our nation by crossing over to the Army. An indefinite reenlistment is an act of selfless service that shows a Soldiers dedication to our country by guaranteeing that they will serve at least 20 years or more on active duty. SSG Ayala has been what we call a force multiplier, building our driver's training program from the ground up and being a vital member of the battalion's critical SHARP program. -Diamondback 7

Lots of useful information for families of the Diamondbacks as we prepare to go to National Training Center for some intensive training. Please check out the 2 BEB SFRG page for more information if you were not able to attend this evening.
Diamondbacks, up there getting some long overdue awards. Congratulations to SPC Beepat, SSG Keyes, and SFC Dihan.
The winning team of the Castle Crucible has a really good number of Diamondback Soldiers on it.
Congratulations to the winners.

It is awesome being able to visit different places around Fort Bliss and see where a member of the Diamondbacks have been before and left their mark for others to see and to look up to. This morning, Diamondback 6 and I were at the Iron Works gym and saw a sign on the wall that declared our very own Corporal C**n as a standard bearer that others can measure themselves against. CPL C**n took part in the Dia De Los Deadlifts competition and demonstrated that the time and effort he invested into his own physical fitness deserves to be a benchmark that others can strive to achieve. I hope that he returns next year to raise that bar even higher.

This last week we got the pleasure of being able to see Mr. Wilcox become Chief Warrant Officer 2 Wilcox. It was a great day for the Diamondbacks and the Electric Eye platoon to see Mr. Wilcox get a well deserved promotion and to reaffirm the Army Officer Oath of Office with LTC Pence. CW2 Wilcox was able to be promoted by his wife while his family was in attendance. Please congratulate him when you see him.

Early morning work. The Diamondbacks came together at 0445 this morning to begin setting up the equipment required to administer the Army Combat Fitness Test to the newest members of the 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, as a part of their Green Platoon integration and training. SFC Eisele led the event and did an outstanding job.

The Diamondbacks took advantage of the time off to hold a classic Army Pie in the Face fundraiser organized by SFC Dihan. The Soldiers took turns nominated others to receive a pie in the face. The Soldiers could increase the bid in an attempt to NOT get a pie in the face if they chose. While nominations and bidding started out slow, they quickly the energy and momentum of any auction and soon almost everyone had received a pie in the face. SFC Dihan masterfully evaded being the recipient for a while, before someone suggested that all of the Soldiers pool their resources. She was no match for their combined teamwork in the end and finally succumbed after over one of year of previous failed attempts.

October 20 was the long awaited 2d Engineer Battalion Organizational Day (Org Day), which was largely planned and orchestrated by our very own SFC Dihan. The Diamondbacks prevailed in two of the day's competitions. SPC Nugent dominated the chili cook off and came out with a first place medal, while SGT Rodriguezroman handily won the baking competition (with what is by far the best flan I've ever had in my life). Our football team came out strong and turned a lot of heads, but unfortunately landed just short of victory with a commendable second place finish. Finally we absolutely destroyed the competition in the tug of war, but were unfortunately disqualified due to a misunderstanding. The Diamondbacks once again demonstrated that we are a team of incredibly talented and diverse individuals that all come together to form a team of teams, capable of success in any situation.
Org Days serve primarily as morale and esprit de corps building days that are a stand down from day to day training. This Org Day consisted of many competitions including, football, volleyball, horseshoes, spades, soccer, a baking competition, a chili cook off, as well as dancing lessons, hamburgers, hotdogs and more.

The Diamondbacks have had to say goodbye to a few more team members in the last two weeks. 1LT Koga and SGT(P) Guevarez are both beginning their travels to their next assignment. Both have left big shoes to fill and we wish them the best of luck.
1LT Koga joined the team while we were in Korea and immediately immersed himself in the leadership of one of the most complex and technically challenging platoons in the Bulldog Brigade. With his leadership, the platoon was able to accomplish a distinguished list of feats, many of which were accomplished for the first time in Army history.
SGT Guevarez came to us way back in 2019 to fill a unique position as the only 92A Automated Logistical Specialist assigned to the company. His teams' proficiency was so good, that he ended up with a lot of time on his hands. This made him the prime candidate to serve as our very own headquarters platoon sergeant. SGT Guevarez excelled in that position and accomplished immeasurable achievements that kept the company running on a day to day basis. I will always remember him as one of the hardest working, no-nonsense NCOs, that I've had the honor to work with. And his attention to detail has helped to save the mental health, and possibly the life of at least one Soldier during that time.

Corporal McNicholas received his long overdue lateral promotion from Specialist to Corporal finally. CPL McNicholas has been one of our high performing UAS Operators for a while now, and his recent graduation from the Basic Leaders Course, combined with his promotable status resulted in his promotion to Corporal. Congratulations, and we're all looking forward to your inevitable promotion to Sergeant.

Friday afternoon gave us the opportunity to promote Corporal O'Leary and Specialist Mason to Sergeant. SGT O'Leary was able to be promoted by CPL C**n and SGT Mason was promoted by his wife, while his family was able be in attendance and witness the occasion.
Promotion to Sergeant is the first of many big steps for non-commissioned officers in the Army. They have big shoes to fill, and we have the utmost confidence in each of them.

Last week, a former member of the Diamondback team recited the oath of enlistment and reenlisted the next leg of his Army career. SGT Mason was a critical member of the 2d Engineer Battalion S2 before coming to us to be a member of the BISE and spending some time in the HQ platoon. SGT Mason's time as a Diamondback wasn't as long as we'd liked to have been, but he's about to be on his way to a new and excited assignment on the east coast. Diamondback 6, the former Diamondback 7, and I, were honored to be invited and to attend the event, congratulations to SGT Mason, his wife, and their son DeAngelo.

The SIGINT Team of IC PLT did an outstanding job representing our company in this installation-wide competition called, 'Dia de Los Deadlifts'. CPL C**n lifted 500lbs! Among his team are SGT Bynum, SGT Macon and CPL Langford. CPT Collins got to coach them as they were competing.

The Diamondback Family had a great turn out on our first Brunch and Paint event held in Biggs Park last weekend! Stay tuned for the holiday ones!
SPC Beepat did a great job as the paint instructor. We are lucky to have talented Soldiers in the unit. The canvas and paint were all provided for by the company.
Thank you to all that participated!

With the first of many promotions today, Mr. Danielson became Chief Danielson, with his well deserved promotion to Chief Warrant Officer Two. CW2 Danielson was able to be promoted by his wife and children in a very well rehearsed team effort. Our 2d Engineer Battalion Commander, LTC Pence was present and able to reaffirm the oath of office with CW2 Danielson today, to complete the ceremony. Please congratulate Chief Danielson when you see him.

The Diamondbacks crushed it this morning with a 2 mile costume run with the 2d Engineer Battalion. Most importantly, our very own SPC "Poppa Slim" McGowan took the honors by being voted as the best costume in the battalion this morning.

Today, the Diamondbacks were visited by Lieutenant General (LTG) Calvert, the Deputy Commanding General of FORSCOM, and we took the opportunity to brief LTG Calvert on the capabilities and readiness of our SIGINT and EW Soldiers and their equipment. CPL C**n and CPL Langford briefed LTG Calvert with ease and confidence, highlighting their knowledge and abilities, and doing an outstanding job representing the company.

This morning the Diamondbacks successfully executed their "MICO Expo," by conducting a capabilities briefing to the S2 staff from the Battalions of the 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division. This briefing highlighted the capabilities that we bring to the brigade and explained how SIGINT, EW, HUMINT, GEOINT, BISE, and UAS can be used, what they bring to the fight, and how to request the support of that asset. It was also a great chance for the Platoon leadership to meet the S2 staff personnel from across the BDE and put a face to a name. Excellent performance from everyone involved and very informative.

A lot of our Soldiers like to play fantasy games that involve exploring volcanoes and searching for gem stones. Fortunately we're close to a real volcano with real gemstones. Kilbourne Hole is close by and doesn't cost anything to visit. It's just a short drive on a few dirt roads that are fairly well maintained. Take your friends and family and search for some Peridot, a semi precious gem which is plentiful in the crater.

Incentives for outstanding physical fitness?
YES.
CPT Collins explained called forward the Diamondbacks with the highest scores on the Army Combat Fitness Test to explain the new Diamondback incentives program that went into effect in October. Soldiers that take the ACFT and a top 10 in the company get to take advantage of a few incentives. Score a 540? Get a few more incentives. Score 90 points in each event? Even more incentives. Score a 600 and tie or even beat CPT Collins' ACFT Score? That's a surprise to be revealed later.

A big part of life in the Army is moving. Moving homes, moving to new posts and new units, moving up, or moving on. In these last few days, we've said goodbye to a few of our teammates, SSG Jimenez, SGT Barbe, and CPL Lopez.
SSG Jimenez was instrumental in the success of the Headhunter platoon throughout her time here both as a Team Leader and as the Platoon Sergeant. Her work as the Operations Sergeant resulted in immediate improvements behind the scenes that helped every member of the Diamondback team. The Fort Huachuca NCO Academy is gaining an incredible asset.
SGT Barbe brought tactical insight to the GEOINT section and was able to use his experiences to educate his teammates. It’s one thing to be an expert in your profession, but it elevates your work to a higher level when you’re able to see it from “the customer’s perspective” and tailor your work so that it answers the questions that they have. That’s one of the many skills that SGT Barbe brought to the team.
CPL Lopez, our very own quiet professional, has been with the Diamondbacks for many years now. He’s made a name for himself as the continuity in the GEOINT section. If you needed to know what the team has done, or what the team can do, CPL Lopez had the answer. There will be some large shoes to fill after CPL Lopez leaves for his next assignment in Hawaii.

Sergeant Keyes has a been a member of the Diamondback company for almost two years now and has been a vital contributor to the success of the company since his arrival. Fortunately for him he has been recognized by the Army as someone that is ready (overdue in my opinion) for promotion to Staff Sergeant. SSG Keyes was able to be promoted by his father on Thursday and can finally wear the rank insignia on his chest that matches the superior performance that SSG Keyes is known for.
-Diamondback 7
Last week we were finally able to promote Staff Sergeant Duverglas to Sergeant First Class. The promotion to Sergeant First Class is a major milestone in the career or any NCO in the Army. It's the first rank that is considered a "Senior NCO" and a lot of responsibility and expectations come with the rank. SFC Duverglas earned the rank and had the honor to be promoted by her family.

The Electronic Warfare (EW) PLT and Intelligence Collection (IC) Platoon completed a successful week-long training in the 1AD training Area C/D. They took time to conduct student trainings such as: Setting up Camo tents, First Aid, tactical combat casualty care, SKL, How to setup radios, OE-254, Radio etiquette, Nighy Vision Drivers training, Land Navigation, getting pace count, how to use a DAGR, and ofcourse the culminating event: using their intelligence equipment in preparation for NTC.
