February 24th, 2024, was declared El Paso County History Day by Commissioners Court resolution adopted February 5th acknowledging UTEP Liberal Arts College participation and promotion of student engagement in the study of history.

To join in celebrating the 50th anniversary of National History Day, the Law Library highlights our special collection of historical books featuring El Paso, Texas, Mexico, native American, U.S., history and more.

The private collection of Judge Javier Alvarez was donated to the Law Library on his September 2022 retirement. Our historical collection was initiated by local attorney Clinton Cross when he began sharing his personal legal history collection a decade ago.

Come see and enjoy these enlightening and interesting tomes. Expand your knowledge of local history in one of the relaxing comfy spots in the library.
