The Bienvenidos a Bliss Relocation Fair is scheduled for 1-5pm Tuesday, August 5 at the Centennial Banquet and Conference Center.

The event gives newcomers a chance to get the scoop on their surroundings. The fair showcases services provided by Army Community Service, Family and MWR and various post support agencies, along with community resources, volunteer opportunities and more.

The Centennial is located at 11199 Sgt. E. Churchill St. on East Fort Bliss. For more information, call 569-4227.

We caught the leprechaun that stole the .2 off of our 6 mile run. Register now for the official St. Patrick’s Day 10K (6.2miles) Pub Run. The run starts at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 15 at Freedom Crossing.

The 10K Saint Patricks's Day Pub Run is open to all, including the El Paso community. All participants will receive a performance T-shirt.

Age groups are 19-under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49 and 50-over. Register at Stout and Soto PFCs and online at www.active.com. Early registration is $10 for active-duty military assigned to Fort Bliss and costs $20 for all other runners. Early registration closes Wednesday, March 12. Late registration will be held on-site from1-2:30 p.m. the day of the event and costs an additional $10 for all runners.

The St. Patrick's Day 10K Pub Run is generously sponsored by USAA and First Command.

Test your culinary skills for a chance to win great prizes at the Fort Bliss Rod and Gun Club's Chili Cook-Off!

The competition heats up from noon-5 p.m. Saturday, February 22. Registration is free for competitors; simply stop by the club or call (915) 568-2983 to sign up. The first-place winner will take home a $100 gift card.

Chili lovers, make sure you come hungry: $5 buys a sample of each chili, cornbread and a beverage. Additional chili can be purchased from the Rod and Gun Club, as well.

The Fort Bliss Rod and Gun Club is located at Bldg. 3730 Roy Johnson Lane in northeast El Paso. For more information, call (915) 568-2983.

Fort Bliss invites the public to the Fort Bliss Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony Thursday Dec. 5, 2013 at 5 p.m. at Center Chapel One vicinity Memorial Circle on Sheridan Road and Pershing Circle on West Fort Bliss. Music will be provided by the Fort Bliss Community Choir and the 1st Armored Division Band Ensemble.

Join us for Freedom Crossing’s Holiday of Heroes Tree Lighting Celebration on Saturday, November 23rd from 6pm to 9pm to celebrate our Nation’s heroes and the holiday season! The free event will take place on our promenade and outdoor fireplace and will feature both live holiday music and DJ, photos with Santa, the Salvation Army Band and their Red Kettle Kick-off, free hot chocolate and coffee, our animated tree light show, and more! Plus, we’ll have a special performance from country music artist, Savannah Berry. Savannah has recorded and performed alongside some of country music’s biggest stars, including a duet with Sugarland, and competed on Season 4 of NBC’s The Voice. She will perform her new Christmas single, “Silent Night Without You”, as a special dedication to our Fort Bliss soldiers and families. This will be a very memorable night and the perfect way to kick off the holiday season!

Fort Bliss invites the public to the Fort Bliss Veterans Day Ceremony tomorrow Nov. 7, 2013 at 9 a.m. at Memorial Circle located at Sheridan Road and Pershing Drive on West Fort Bliss. Master Sergeant Ralph Sanchez, USA (Ret.) will be the guest speaker. Additionally, Sergeant Sean Landers will receive the Silver Star for combat actions while serving in Afghanistan. Please join us as we "Honor All Who Served".

Our friends at the Fort Bliss Officer & Civilian Spouse Association are hosting their annual Bliss in Bloom Spring Bazaar March 8-10 at the Trading Post, 1717 Marshall Road on West Fort Bliss (in the old Commissary location).

Vendors will offer military art, jewelry, pottery, stained glass, wood and ironworks, children's items, food, antiques and much, much more! Admission costs $2 per person - children 12 and under get in free.

The bazaar will be open:
• 4-8pm Friday, March 8
• 10am-5pm Saturday, March 9
• Noon-5pm Sunday, March 10

The event is open to the public. Proceeds benefit the Fort Bliss OCSA Community Giving Fund.

Fort Bliss Special Forces will hold team recruiting briefings March 11-13. Each day, interested candidates can attend a briefing from either 1000-1130 or 1230-1400. All briefings will be held at the Roberto Loeza Soldier Activity Center at 20732 Constitution Avenue.
