Power Outage Update – Geneseo Area ⚠️

Power has been restored to all members in the Geneseo area as of approximately 5:45 PM.
If you are still without power, please report your outage by calling our 24-hour outage line at 1-800-858-5522.

Yard work season is here—but it’s not just grass you need to watch out for. Hidden hazards like power lines and ground nests can turn a routine mow into a risky situation.
Stay safe while you tidy up:
• 📞 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝟴𝟭𝟭 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗶𝗴—it’s free, fast, and required by law.
⚡ 𝗟𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝘂𝗽 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁—be aware of overhead power lines when using ladders, trimmers, or long tools
• 🔌𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀—keep electric tools and extension cords clear of blades and moisture
• 🌧️ 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗽 𝘄𝗲𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴—water and electricity don’t mix
• 🐝 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘁𝘀—sudden swarms from bees or wasps can cause panic and accidents near equipment
• 👟 𝗪𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗴𝗲𝗮𝗿—closed-toe shoes and eye protection help prevent injuries
If you spot increased bee activity, pause mowing and keep your distance—disturbing a nest can quickly escalate.
🌿 A little awareness goes a long way—keep your yard work safe from the ground up!

Here’s your reminder to slow down and stay alert — especially in neighborhoods, near schools, playgrounds and crosswalks.
🚗𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀: Watch for kids who may dart into the street.
🚲 𝗕𝗶𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀: Wear helmets and follow traffic rules.
👟 𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀: Remind kids to look both ways, use sidewalks and make eye contact with drivers before crossing.
A few extra seconds of caution can help keep everyone safe this summer.

Keep the sparks where they belong:
• 🔌 Use outdoor-rated cords & outlets—indoor cords can overheat or fail outside
• 🌧️ Keep electricity dry—plug connections should stay off the ground and away from spills and water play
• ⚡ Don’t overload outlets—too many devices on one circuit can trip breakers or cause overheating
• 💡 Check patio lights & fans—look for frayed wires or loose connections before plugging in
• 🚫 Give overhead lines space—keep tall decorations, tents, and poles far from power lines

If a breaker trips, that’s your warning sign—not an inconvenience.
