End of Year Stats for the Elizabethtown Fire Dept provided by Lancaster County Wide Communications.

The 2025 calendar year for EFD was another busy year of emergency incidents, training, public relation events, fire prevention education and administrative tasks. These events could not be handled by the membership without the support of our community. The time away from home, work and life in general is more difficult these days than ever before. We would like to thank our members for the time, the effort and hard work that they put into the department daily.

The Elizabethtown Fire Department is a single station located in Elizabethtown Borough in which it houses three front line pieces of apparatus including a utility truck, a duty chief vehicle, a support vehicle and a traffic unit vehicle. These vehicles are maintained by our active members to a degree in which an outside agency will continue maintenance and repairs.

The members of EFD are 100% volunteer responding to any emergency in and around our community of Elizabethtown Borough, West Donegal Township, Mount Joy Township and Conewago Township (a small portion of Dauphin County). In 2025 EFD responded to 725 incidents, the 3rd busiest all-volunteer single station in Lancaster County.

The Engine Company, Engine 74 mainly responsible for suppression, responded to 276 incidents being the 9th busiest single station all-volunteer engine in Lancaster County.

The Rescue Company, Squad 74 responsible for rescue and suppression responded to 257 incidents being the busiest single station all-volunteer rescue squad in Lancaster County.

The Truck Company, Tower 74 mainly responsible for rescue and suppression responded to 362 calls being the busiest single station all-volunteer truck company in Lancaster County.

EFD volunteers come from a wide range of different backgrounds including a handful of career firefighters from other areas including Montgomery County Fire & Rescue in Maryland, City of Lebanon, Lower Allen Fire Dept Cumberland County, Baltimore County Fire Dept Maryland, Harrisburg International Airport, Manheim Township Fire Rescue, Township of Spring Fire Rescue (Reading PA) and 193rd Air National Guard Fire Dept. With this being said, due to work schedules mainly during daytime hours EFD staffing some days are extremely slim. We encourage you if you have the slightest interest to stop by the station and complete an application and assist your community. They need you just as much as we need them.

Once again, thank you to the members for their hard work and dedication to Station 74, it never goes unnoticed and a much bigger thank you to the Elizabethtown Community and surrounding townships that we proudly serve.
