One thing I’ve been thinking about is this: if I could improve one thing in Elko, it wouldn’t be a specific project—it would be the relationship between the people and City Hall.
I believe people deserve to know not just what decisions are being made, but why they’re being made. Too many people feel like government only talks to them when it’s election season. That needs to change.
I don’t claim to have all the answers, and I never will. That’s why I ask questions and want to hear from the community. The people who live here every day often understand the problems better than anyone sitting behind a desk.
My goal is simple: listen first, learn the facts, be honest about what the city can and can’t do, and make decisions that put Elko first. Even when we don’t all agree, we should at least know we’re being heard.
I believe that’s how you build trust, and I believe trust is the foundation of good local government.
