HEADS UP: 8500 block of Main Street in Ellicott City will be closed for a water main repair this evening at 6 p.m. More info from Howard County Government:

TRAFFIC ALERT: At approximately 6:00 p.m. this evening, June 11th, the County's Department of Public Works' Bureau of Utilities will be shutting down the 8500 block of Main Street in Ellicott City, so its crew can repair a water main break. Traffic will be detoured around the area using Main Street to Ellicott Mills Drive to Court House Drive to Rogers Avenue to Main Street. The Bureau does not anticipate the work will affect water service in the area and that the repair and corresponding road closure are expected to last six hours.

Members of the Howard County Police Department pay tribute today to Howard County Sheriff's Office's Deputy Sheriff Frank J. Miller, who died of a heart attack after struggling with a prisoner on June 7, 1946.
He had worked as a deputy sheriff for 29 years, often patrolling Ellicott City and Elkridge prior to the establishment of the county police. We ask that you keep his family and friends in your prayers. He will never be forgotten.
