Two cents:
This wasn’t in “retaliation” and no one “called for violence”. How about that “misinformation”? This process was done based on the City Charter. Based on the dissatisfaction in current government. More people signed to remove these Councilors then some were even voted into these seats with-take that into thought. Over 1000 people signed…..when really only about 3/4 thousand only vote in elections here.
The numbers the City have provided online for budget reporting is not “misinformation”. Nothing that was put out there was “misinformation”.
The REALITY is this: their connections to non profits and those non profits receiving money. No votes were abstained from. There are conflicts of interest on this board. That is not misinformation. The City Council has discriminated against a business trying to obtain licensing. There is a mother and daughter both residing in the same household who also sit on the Council. Making the connections via public information is not “misinformation”. What exactly is the “misinformation”? That’s what we would love to know. If there was such things, wouldn’t you want to address exactly what was? I know most would.

THESE THINGS HAVE ALL BEEN IN FRONT IF YOUR EYES.

I’m proud of the residents who stood up and saw what everyone else saw and continues to see.

It’s evident that they can’t seem to look in the mirror and see where they have been wrong and account for that in a public manner. THAT IS WHAT IS DISAPPOINTING.

And if they could let us know when they can actually add and not inflate a budget to make the numbers look different than they really are….😂

We are still here to keep Council on their toes.

$19,404. That’s the number for the cost of the investigation of a City Counselor. Yet…the Councilors that we are recalling have a load of Ethics Violations themselves.
You pair that with the new unnecessary “rebranding” of the City that cost $14,000….that equals…drumroll🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁

And the excuse of “it will cost the city” clearly is not valid at this point. We just spent the money above unecessarily.

WE ARE ALMOST THERE!
Over 1,000 of you have signed the petition. As we continue on the next few days, EVERY SIGNATURE COUNTS.
We have MET WELL BEYOND the State's minimum requirements, but to meet the City's requirement, we need YOUR SIGNATURE.
This is about Community and bring it together by making the necessary changes to have TRANSPARENCY, ACCOUNTABILITY, AND PUTTING ELLSWORTH FIRST, NOT NON PROFITS.

Ask yourself this:
If we insist on giving taxpayer funds-shouldn't the Chamber of Commerce in Ellsworth be getting more funds than just a non-profit that only caters to certain businesses? Isn't it better to support the ENTIRE ELLSWORTH BUSINESS COMMUNITY? Shouldn't we be giving to the Emmaus Shelter, who has been a long time staple of our City? How about the Rotary? They just fundraised to take care of City property that needed it.
Instead, Non-Profits associated with the sitting 5 City Counselors all got payouts- when really there should be none until our infrastructure is maintained, our current parks are taken care of, our residents are put first.

PLEASE THINK ABOUT WHAT IS HAPPENING. We keep getting told that our City is growing at a "substantial rate". That is not true. Numbers don't lie. Roughly 505 people in 5 years is not that big of an amount.
We have had an immense amount of turnover. Especially in our Financial Department. Why is that? I can tell you why when examining the budget and anyone that can add and subtract can tell you. THINGS ARE NOT ADDING UP!
We have done the research. These are FACTS. Stop being gaslit because someone wants to make Ellsworth into Bar Harbor.

REMEMBER-THIS PROCESS JUST BRINGS IT TO A YES OR NO VOTE FOR THE ENTIRE CITY.

Head on over to Friends and Family today to sign the Petition! A City is not even 9,000 people and there is too much middle management! Imagine if you operated your business like that! You would be broke and over budget too! Mind you we are still hiring too!
