The Shelton Centennial Lions in calibration with Aberdeen Lions, Shelton Kiwanis, Hood Canal lions, and the Republican Women of Mason County provided free hearing and vision screening to approximately 3,600 elementary and middle school children in Mason County.

The adage “It takes a village” really proved to be true in this joint community project spearheaded by Shelton Centennial Lions. We appreciate the community stepping up we couldn’t have done this on our own. The schools included all elementary, middle, and JR high schools in Shelton School district as well as Pioneer, Southside, Grapeview, Mary M. Knight, Shelton Valley Christian, and Mason County Christian schools.

Saints pantry in shelton will be providing food to the schools for kids to take home on weekends. Our lions club will be picking up the food from them and delivering to schools on Fridays. Please donate what you can to the food bank

Day 5 of vision and hearing screening. Today was pioneer school district where we screened 500 kids. We were joined today by the lions district governor Lisa Ikela. We have screened 2400 kids so far in 5 schools. We have 5 more days to screen around 1200 more students. This is Lisa our governor in the pictures and folks from aberdeen lions.

My candidate Becky Cronquist for Shelton School Board Position 1 has recently completed the Turning Pointe Survivor Advocacy Center 5k resilience race event. As she shares her experience, she shows her strength and ability to be an overcomer and a diligent work ethic. . She will use these gifts to serve our district well. Lorilyn Rogers "Just finished my first 5k, walking. Thank you Sarah Hazen for walking along side me the whole way. Thanks Miranda Lynn and Faith for participating. I set this as a goal 3 years ago when I had to learn to learn to walk again.My husband walked to meet me the last 1/2 mile to see if he had to carry me back."
