In honor of Superior's 67th anniversary, we are highlighting some incredible Superior alumni. Today, we’re proud to share the journey of Tom Dunn! Tom began his career with us in 1991 as an EMT, eventually rising to the role of Regional Manager in Indiana. What started as a part-time job during a business internship transformed into 20 years filled with invaluable experiences, mentorship, and lifelong friendships.

One defining moment for Tom was the immediate response following Hurricane Katrina. When Dave Hill, President and CEO, called upon Tom and two other regional managers to mobilize 50 EMTs and paramedics to New Orleans within 24 hours, they rose to the challenge. After a flurry of calls, they had a team ready to go, and soon after, they were tasked with sending even more resources to assist in aid.

Tom reflects, “Dave made his decision based on what he felt was right for the victims. He had the tools, people, and resources to help, and he didn’t hesitate.”

Tom’s time at Superior ignited his passion for EMS and shaped him into the dedicated professional he is today. He now serves as the Chief Operating Officer for the Emergency Medical Services Authority in Oklahoma.

In honor of Superior's 67th anniversary, we are highlighting some incredible Superior alumni, showing how Superior jumpstarted their careers! Today, we’re excited to highlight Kara Caldwell's journey!

Kara joined Superior in 2021 as a dispatcher in Highland, Indiana, where she quickly fell in love with the role and the incredible teams she worked alongside.

Her time at Superior was more than just a job; it was a launchpad for her career. The skills and knowledge she gained in dispatch opened numerous doors, leading her to her current role dispatching critical care helicopters for IU Health Lifeline.

Kara’s story is a testament to the impact of our training and the supportive environment at Superior. We’re proud to have played a part in her journey!💙🚑

In honor of Superior's 67th anniversary, we are highlighting some incredible Superior alumni, showing how Superior jumpstarted their careers! Today we honor Matthew Anderson!

In 2019, Matthew enrolled in one of our free EMT classes in Elmhurst, Illinois, and after successfully passing his national exam, he began his career as an EMT in Munster, Indiana, working alongside an incredible team.

Superior played a crucial role in helping Matthew obtain his paramedic license, and he proudly continued his journey with us until 2022. His experiences here laid a strong foundation for his next chapter as a firefighter/paramedic with the Westfield Fire Department.

Matthew reflects on his time at Superior as an invaluable learning experience, where he was always treated with respect and support. 💙🚑

From start to finish, they were ready for anything, making sure every mile stayed safe and supported. Proud of the team that shows up when it matters most! 🚑
