Tornado Recovery Resources and Community Support
ENID, OK (April 27, 2026) – The City of Enid is continuing recovery efforts following the recent tornado and wants residents to be aware of the resources currently available.
As insurance companies complete their assessments and claims processes, the City has deployed and will continue to deploy its clam shell truck through the affected areas to assist removal of tree limbs, storm debris, and household debris from the City’s right-of-way. Additional details regarding schedules and routes will be shared as they become available. Residents can expect a weeklong effort to assist in removal of debris.
For homes that were destroyed, utility services have been shut off, and billing has been stopped as appropriate.
Residents impacted by the tornado who are in need of donated supplies such as totes, bug spray, safety glasses, sunscreen, tarps, or utility gloves may pick up these items at the former Community Church of the Plains, located at 4205 S. Van Buren St.
Residents may also notify the onsite Incident Command of their needs, and volunteers will deliver the requested items to them.
Impacted residents can report property damage at: https://damage.ok.gov.
Monetary donations are also one of the most effective ways to support both immediate relief and long-term recovery. To help ensure funds can be used locally and flexibly, donations are encouraged through these community partner links:
• Cherokee Strip Community Foundation Disaster Relief Fund: https://cherokeestripcf.fcsuite.com/erp/donate/create/fund?funit_id=2584
• United Way of Enid and Northwest Oklahoma: https://givebutter.com/enid-relief-fund
The City of Enid extends sincere thanks to all community partners, volunteers, and residents for their patience, resilience, and support during this time. We are especially grateful for the positive spirit shown by those directly affected by the tornado as recovery efforts continue.
