Happy 4th of July and Happy Birthday to the United States!

We are proud of who we are, where we came from, and our prospects for the future.

Our home on N. Enola Dr. is historic to our community and we are honored to be able to help keep this location within the Twp. active for emergency response. Thanks to Northeast Fire & Rescue Company who owns the property for allowing us to operate here. This station has been in service for 113 of America's 250 years.

The Enola Fire Company (which later became the Citizens Fire Company) was organized in 1905, making it the very first fire company established to protect the village of Enola.
Its creation is directly lined up with the massive boom of the area. In January 1905, the Pennsylvania Railroad officially opened the Enola Yards, which quickly became one of the largest rail classification yards in the world. As workers and families flooded into the newly laid-out grid of North Enola, local citizens realized they desperately needed fire protection.
For the first few years, the company operated out of makeshift setups until they raised the funds to construct the permanent brick firehouse at 230 N. Enola Drive in 1913. (Cumberland County Historical Society Records, East Pennsboro Township's public ordinances and their municipal Fire Apparatus Replacement Plans, & Pennsylvania Railroad (PRR) Historical Archives)

Also showcased in these photos are our two traffic units. Our very 1st new traffic unit, Traffic 5, placed in service in 2015 and our newest, Traffic 5A, placed in service this past spring. When we decided a second traffic unit was required, we specifically designed the timeline to place Traffic 5A in service ten years from Traffic 5. This will keep them on a ten year spread for replacement with a 20 year life expectancy.

Our thanks to the community for your support! Stay safe and stay hydrated today!

Tonight we learned that past Fire Police Captain Hank Silk passed away on Friday, June 26th.

For those that did not have the pleasure of knowing him, he was a really great person. He was always available to help anyone.

Along with his service to East Pennsboro with Fire Police he was also a retired Army Warrant Officer helicopter pilot.

Please keep him and his family in your thoughts.

This is something I've been saying for years. I just have never put this into words. My friend says this very well.

Do YOU know what is avaiable? Do YOU know the many ways you can help your community of East Pennsboro Township?

We will ask you to come join EPFP, but if that is not your "cup of tea", there are so many other things you can help out with at Enola Fire Company No. 3 - Public and Northeast Fire & Rescue Company without "running into burning buildings".

Reach out and join the family! We would love to have a discussion.
