The mission of Ephrata Area Social Services is to empower and connect neighbors to build a healthy and vibrant community.

Programs We Offer:
Meals on Wheels (Ephrata and Cocalico Region)
Hand UP Exchange: Food and Clothing Bank-Twice a month individuals can shop at our client choice food and clothing bank at no cost. Transportation Services-No cost door to door pick-ups for individuals who have no transportation available to their doctor appointments, grocery store, hair

dresser, or any other location. We have two vehicles that are wheelchair accessible. Community Support Services-Two staff social workers provide social services, financial assistances, and community resources to families in need. Our programs are 100% possible because of community support. Donate or Volunteer to continue supporting our Neighbors helping Neighbors commitment.

As we continue celebrating our transition to Community Hive, we're excited to share a video that captures where we've been, why we evolved, and where we're headed next.

A huge thank you to FiP Creative and Keystone Creative Media for helping bring our story to life. They did an incredible job capturing the heart of our organization, the journey to our new name, and the future we're building together.

School’s out and summer reading season is officially HERE!

Tomorrow, June 6, kicks off the Ephrata Public Library Summer Reading Program and Summer Reading Carnival — and it looks like it’s going to be packed with fun!

From games, giveaways, magic shows, music, dinosaurs, bubbles, story times, prizes, and more, there is something for every age this summer. Whether your child loves books, art, science, or adventure, the library has an incredible lineup planned all summer long.

Be sure to stop by tomorrow’s kickoff event and help your kids “Unearth a Story” this summer!

Yesterday was an incredible day! 🐝

From a packed Community Breakfast to a busy Open House and Ribbon Cutting, yesterday was filled with excitement, connection, and support as we officially launched Community Hive.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make the day possible. Thank you to the partners, sponsors, vendors, volunteers, staff, community leaders, and supporters who helped bring this vision to life and to everyone who joined us to celebrate this exciting new chapter.

A little wind couldn't stop the fun at the Second Annual Ephrata Borough, PA Government, Golf Tournament. Thanks to our golfers, sponsors, and supporters, more than $9,600 was raised to help neighbors throughout Northern Lancaster County.

This tournament started after Borough leaders saw firsthand how many people needed a hand up with utility bills and other basic needs. In just its second year, participation jumped from 42 registered golfers to 70!

A big shout-out to Bruce Haws and the Ephrata Borough team for organizing another great event, and to Manor Golf for being such a fantastic host.

This one was a little bittersweet too, as it marked our final event as Ephrata Area Social Services. Next up: Community Hive! 🐝

Just a reminder that our office will be closed Monday and Tuesday as we get ready for an exciting new chapter!

Meals on Wheels deliveries WILL continue as normal.

Be sure to stop by our Open House on Tuesday to celebrate the launch of Community Hive. We’ll have tours, free food, door prizes, and a ribbon cutting at 4 PM. We’d love to see you there!

We’re excited to share a new partnership with the Adamstown Area Library!

Community Hive Resource Coordinators will now be offering appointment opportunities directly at the library to help connect neighbors with support, resources, and guidance closer to home.

We’re grateful for partnerships like this that help make community support more accessible throughout Northern Lancaster County.

You can also come learn more about Community Hive next weekend at the Opening Day Drive-Thru Party at Denver Community Park on Saturday, June 6 from 8:30–11 AM! Families can stay in their cars while picking up summer reading goodies, snacks, raffle prizes, and more from over 25 community sponsors.
