Weather Update - Today, Wednesday, March 11
A line of showers and thunderstorms is expected to move across the area from west to east this evening through around midnight. A few storms could become severe, with damaging straight-line winds being the primary hazard. There is also a low potential for hail and an isolated tornado. Areas that experience stronger storms could see around 1 inch of rainfall.

Thursday, March 12
There is a potential for light snowfall in the higher elevations of the East Tennessee mountains and the ridges of southwest Virginia. Rain may change over to light snow between 5–7 AM, with precipitation ending around noon. Snowfall amounts are expected to be a half inch or less at the highest peaks and ridges, with little to no accumulation in lower elevations. Warm ground temperatures should limit any accumulation to mainly grassy surfaces.

We will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates if needed. Please stay weather aware this evening.
