Oregon Community Programs - OCP OCP provides Outpatient Behavioral Health services & Specialized Foster Care. Our therapy programs help families heal, grow, and build lasting stability.

We support the use of evidence-based treatment for children & families with training, consulting, and outreach services to promote positive family life. Oregon Community Programs (OCP) has been supporting kids and families in Oregon for over 40 years. We provide safe, stable homes for youth in foster care and evidence-based mental health services for children, teens, and families. We partner with state agencies to reach kids who might otherwise fall through the cracks, offering highly trained caregivers and 24/7 support. Everything we do is research-backed, focused on long-term success, and designed to empower families and caregivers. We’re not just supporting kids, we’re breaking cycles of trauma and creating lasting change for future generations. Donate today: https://www.oregoncommunityprograms.org/donations/

Behind every strong foster care team is someone helping bring all the pieces together!

Today, we're recognizing some incredible members of our OCP team: Matthew, Hollis, Jordyn, and Beth!

Our Foster Care Team Leads play an essential role in supporting youth and the families who care for them. They help coordinate treatment teams, support foster parents through challenges, monitor progress, and make sure everyone involved in a youth's care is working toward shared goals.

It's a role that requires patience, flexibility, creative problem-solving, and a whole lot of heart. No two days look quite the same, and much of their work happens behind the scenes.

Matthew, Hollis, Jordyn, and Beth, thank you! Your dedication, leadership, and commitment to our youth and foster families make a meaningful difference every day. We're grateful for everything you do to keep our teams connected and moving forward.

Big things happen in our therapy rooms, and sometimes, so do big messes!

Every day, children and families come through our doors to learn new skills, build stronger relationships, and work toward meaningful progress. Our therapy spaces see a lot of activity, and after years of use, our carpeting is showing it.

We're looking for community partners to help us replace nearly 3,870 square feet of carpeting in our therapy rooms and a high-traffic hallway with durable, easy-to-clean flooring that's better suited to the work happening in these spaces.

Are you a local flooring company, contractor, supplier, or business interested in making a difference?

We're welcoming donations of flooring materials, installation services, and financial contributions. You don't have to take on the whole project to make an impact. Sponsoring a single room or contributing toward a portion of the work would be a tremendous help!

We're also excited to recognize participating businesses through our community partnership program, including opportunities for recognition on our website, social media, and other OCP communications.

Interested in helping? Send us a message! We'd love to talk about how we can work together.

And if you know a local business that might be interested, please tag them or share this post to help us spread the word.

We love seeing feedback like this! KEEP helps parents and caregivers build skills, find support, and connect with others who understand the joys and challenges of caring for children.

We're proud to offer KEEP groups here at Oregon Community Programs and to see the difference they make for local families. 💚

We truly value the uplifting feedback from parents who took part in KEEP. Here’s a wonderful example!

Small moments can make a big difference.

A smoother school morning. A child trying something new. A few minutes of connection after a busy day. These everyday moments can be important steps in helping children and families grow.

In our latest newsletter, we're sharing a story of meaningful progress, simple ways to strengthen family connections, a spotlight on our Early Childhood program, and opportunities to get involved in our community.

We hope you'll take a few minutes to read, learn, and see what's happening at OCP!

Parenting can be hard, and sometimes a little extra support can make a big difference. 💚

We currently have openings for children from birth through age 17 and their families!

Our Early Childhood services can help families with young children build stronger routines, work through big feelings, improve communication, or strengthen the connection between parents and children.

Our Connections program offers counseling for children and families who may need support with emotions, relationships, changes at home or school, or other everyday challenges.

Families can self-refer. Call or text Alexis at 458-240-6754, or send an inquiry through our website.

Not sure what kind of support would be the best fit? That’s okay. Reach out and we’re happy to talk through the options with you.

Last Friday, we closed the office a little early for something important: celebrating our staff.

Our team spends every day showing up for children, families, caregivers, and one another, so we wanted to make a little space to simply enjoy being together.

There was ice cream, bingo, plenty of laughs, and some well-deserved time away from our desks. We’re incredibly grateful for the people who make OCP what it is and for the care, heart, and energy they bring to this work every day.

Thanks to everyone who came out and made our staff appreciation party such a fun afternoon!

Another Parenting Through Change (PTC) training in the books!

A big thank you to Dani, April, and Evyan for leading this training and helping us continue to build our PTC capacity at OCP. Training more team members means we can not only continue offering PTC groups, but also grow our offerings and reach more parents and caregivers in our community.

PTC is an evidence-based parenting program that gives caregivers practical tools to strengthen relationships, encourage positive behavior, and navigate the challenges that come with change.

And congratulations to this newest group of PTC-trained team members! 💚

Six caregivers recently graduated from our LGBTQIA+ KEEP group, led by Beth and Erika, and there was so much to celebrate!

One caregiver shared that she came into the group scared that she didn’t know enough to support her youth in a way that truly affirmed their gender identity and sexual orientation. Over 16 weeks, that changed. She opened up, became more vulnerable with the group, grew more confident in her parenting, and said she was especially grateful for the other caregivers who shared ideas and encouraged her without ever making her feel embarrassed for what she didn’t know.

Another caregiver came to group absolutely beaming after helping their youth obtain an Oregon State ID with their correct gender identity. The whole group celebrated with her. And another got to celebrate their youth graduating from high school and starting college!

Even when placements changed, the connection remained. Several caregivers no longer had their youth in their homes, but they kept coming every week. They were that invested in the group, in one another, and in continuing to learn. At the final celebration, every caregiver shared how much the group had meant to them. They talked about feeling less alone, parenting differently, and watching their youth flourish.

KEEP is an evidence-based support and skill-building group for foster and kinship caregivers. It gives parents practical tools, connection, and a space to learn from others who understand foster care.

We’re excited to celebrate Tracy and Emily as they present at the PCIT International Conference this Friday!

Tracy and Emily will be presenting virtually on the PCIT-Toddler workshops they’ve developed through Oregon Community Programs, sharing their work with professionals from across the PCIT community.

These workshops are designed to give caregivers practical, connection-based tools for supporting toddlers’ emotional regulation, strengthening relationships, and responding to challenging behavior in developmentally appropriate ways.

We’re proud to see Tracy and Emily sharing what they’ve built and bringing OCP’s early childhood work to an international audience.

Please join us in wishing them a great presentation this Friday! 💙
