Congratulations to Officer Torre Kuelker on recently being recognized by the National Drug Interdiction Network for his outstanding work in drug enforcement.

Officer Kuelker was recognized for his role in one of the largest crack co***ne seizures of 2025. This achievement reflects his proactive policing, dedication, and commitment to keeping illegal drugs out of our community.

We are proud to have Officer Kuelker representing the Eureka Police Department and the City of Eureka.

It is always great to spend time with retired Eureka Chief of Police Michael Wiegand!

Chief Werges spent the afternoon with Chief Wiegand at the FBI National Academy Associates Eastern Missouri Chapter’s July meeting, hosted by the St. Louis Cardinals. Chief Werges currently serves as President of the Eastern Missouri Chapter.

More than 100 law enforcement executives representing local, state, and federal agencies attended the event. During the meeting, the Cardinals’ Security Team provided an informative overview of the extensive measures used to help keep fans, players, employees, and visitors safe.

A special thank you to the St. Louis Cardinals and the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (OFFICIAL)for their hospitality and assistance in making this event possible. We appreciate opportunities like this to learn from our regional partners and strengthen relationships throughout the law enforcement community.

Thank You, Eureka!

On July 15, members of the Eureka Police Department joined the Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop C at Culver's for a great day supporting Special Olympics of Missouri.

Throughout the event, officers helped serve customers in the dining room and drive-thru, and thanks to the generosity of our community, we raised an incredible $4,156.16! This total included 10% of event sales, cash tips, checks, and digital donations.

We are grateful to Culver’s for hosting, Eureka Missouri Chamber of Commerce, Bo Matthews for livestreaming the event, and everyone who stopped by, donated, or helped spread the word. We came within just $98.84 of last year’s total and could not be more thankful for another outstanding show of community support.

Thank you to the seven Eureka police officers, five members of Missouri State Highway Patrol, Troop C, and Mia Fijan for helping make the event a success. Most importantly, thank you, Eureka, for continuing to support the incredible athletes Special Olympics Missouri! 💙🏅

🚨 Arrest Made in Eureka Vehicle Break-In Investigation 🚨

On July 7, 2026, detectives from the Eureka Police Department obtained arrest warrants for a 20-year-old St. Louis man in connection with a series of vehicle break-ins that occurred here in Eureka during May 2026.
In one of these cases, a firearm was stolen from a vehicle. The theft of a firearm is not just a property crime; it puts our entire community at risk. Our detectives worked tirelessly alongside our law enforcement partners to identify the suspect and advance this case to the next stage of the criminal justice process.
The suspect is currently being held in the St. Louis County Jail on a $500,000 bond. Similar charges are expected to be filed against an accomplice in the near future.
The Eureka Police Department would like to extend a special thank you to the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office, including Melissa Price-Smith and her office, for their continued partnership, assistance, and commitment to pursuing justice for our community.
The Eureka Police Department reminds everyone that simple steps can help prevent becoming a victim:
🔹 Remove valuables from your vehicle when parked
🔹 Lock your doors every time you leave your vehicle unattended
🔹 Take your keys with you
We also want to remind those who may consider committing crimes in our community that the Eureka Police Department is committed to protecting our residents and businesses. Our officers and detectives will continue to work diligently, in partnership with other agencies, to investigate crimes, identify those responsible, and hold offenders accountable through the criminal justice process.
The safety of our community remains our top priority. We are grateful for the continued support, partnership, and trust of our residents and businesses. Together, through awareness, cooperation, and vigilance, we can continue to keep Eureka a safe place to live, work, and visit.
