My public service journey began in 2017 when I was elected to

the Fair Oaks Ranch City Council. I served three terms (2017–2025) on the Fair Oaks Ranch City Council, including multiple years as Mayor Pro Tem. During that time, I helped lead key initiatives in infrastructure development, strategic planning, and community engagement. I continue to serve as President of the Municipal Development District. In 2018, Governor Greg Abbott appointed me as a Commissioner on the Texas Veterans Commission. I was honored to be appointed as Chairwoman in 2020 and reappointed in 2024. In this role, I oversee efforts to advocate for and provide services to over 1.5 million veterans in Texas. My commitment to public service is rooted in a desire to make a tangible difference in the lives of others, guided by principles of integrity, accountability, and dedication.

On Saturday, we kicked off the 2026 Warrior Games in a puro San Antonio way on the Riverwalk and with mariachis. Dept of War officials, sponsors, and other veteran advocates all came out. The Warrior Games brings together nearly 200 wounded, ill, or injured service members and veterans from all US military services to compete in adaptive sporting events. Big news for Texas veterans and their families.

Office of the Governor Greg Abbott and the Texas Veterans Commission announced $40.8 million in Fund for Veterans’ Assistance grants, supporting 190 grants to 160 organizations across Texas.

These grants are awarded to nonprofits and local government agencies that provide direct services to veterans and their families. This year, the grants are anticipated to serve more than 125,000 veterans and family members statewide.
