COVID-19 Donation Warehouse – Volunteers Needed!

Are you looking for a way to serve during the COVID-19 pandemic? During the COVID19 Response, Volunteer Fairfax has been assisting with collecting donations of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (i.e. handmade and machine made masks, gloves, gowns, etc.) and other items to be distributed to the people of Fairfax County. We need you to help support the operations of the Donation Warehouse located at the American Legion in the City of Fairfax by serving shifts Monday thru Friday between 9 am to 4 pm.
To help, we ask that you complete a Volunteer Emergency Team (VET) volunteer orientation and then sign up for a shift. This is a great opportunity to meet your fellow volunteers as well as gain experience in disaster operations that can be highlighted on a resume and allow you to help others during these extraordinary times.
Volunteers will be asked to follow CDC precautions when in the warehouse. If you are interested in learning about items being collected at the warehouse click to view the Volunteer Fairfax COVID-19 Resource & Update page. If you have any specific questions, please contact Tejas Patel at [email protected].

During the COVID-19 crisis, you can be a hero! Help Cornerstones' small, overworked pantry staff by packaging and marking your hero kit bags.

1 two lb bag of rice
1 one pound bag of dried beans or 2 cans of beans (not green beans)
1 eleven oz or larger box of cereal
1 sixteen oz jar of peanut butter
1 box of cake mix
3 fifteen oz cans of vegetables (not green beans)
Assorted Soup bags containing 6 fifteen oz cans of assorted soups -- all different varieties please.

Put your kit into a small cardboard box (like a copier paper box) and mark them on top with donation size (ex 1-2 people or 3+ people or Assorted Soups).
