AID & ASSISTANCE TO REDUCE THE IMPACT OF WAR Right now there are people without food, shelter, or medical aid due to the ongoing war. While some live in war zones, others have been displaced. Northern Virginia Refugee Fund in Fairfax, Virginia, is dedicated to helping those who have been impacted by war. Our non-profit organization provides refugee aid to people in the United States as well as Middle Eastern and European countries. This refugee assistance comes in the form of aid and education. We invite you to partner with us in providing families with the most basic human needs. YOUR DONATIONS MAKE A DIFFERENCE Your donation, no matter how large or small, will make a difference in the life of a refugee. Our operational costs are very low – only about 3 percent – therefore, 97 cents out of every dollar donated will go directly towards providing aid to refugees. Whether you are an individual who would like to make a donation in honor of a loved one, or are celebrating a milestone and would like to provide your guests with an avenue to donate in lieu of a gift, the refugee fund can provide you with various avenues for this charitable deed. Businesses who would like to broaden their visibility are welcome to sponsor an event or mission trip. Others may choose to give of their time by volunteering at a fundraising event or helping at a refugee camp. FROM WAR-TORN COUNTRIES TO THE U.S. Victims of war in the Middle East are scattered throughout the world. Some live in refugee camps in their home or neighboring countries, while others live thousands of miles away. The refugee fund is dedicated to helping those displaced both locally and abroad. WORKING TOGETHER FOR REFUGEE RELIEF It is our practice to collaborate with others in our refugee efforts. Together with volunteers, businesses and organizations, a network is created that can reach more people. Our board members, executives, and staff are passionate about serving others in this humanitarian effort and enlightening others about the great need that exists. Contact us today to learn more on how you can be part of this humanitarian movement. We support refugees in Washington, DC; Maryland, and Virginia; as well as international countries that have absorbed the multitude of displaced families.

Mission: Provide support to refugees local and abroad, with a focus on education, in addition to enlightening the citizens of the world to this ongoing humanitarian crisis.

It’s during a time like this when we express our humanity, unity, and love to one another.

The Coronavirus outbreak has resulted in a significant reduction of working hours for many people, especially those who are on hourly based salaries, making it difficult to cover their living expenses.

You can be a source of aid to people in their financial crisis during these difficult days. Your contributions will assist anyone that is financially affected. The fund will go towards rent, bills, groceries, and other living expenses.

Mozaic has received few requests for financial assistance, we would like to help them meet their needs. Your support is much needed now.

BREAKING: The U.N. just announced that over 900,000 more Syrians, mostly women and children, have been displaced in recent months due to the extreme violence in northwest Syria.

These homeless families are also experiencing frigid winter temperatures, devastating strikes on basic infrastructure and continued violence every day. Mercy Corps has 350 team members on the ground in Syria providing lifesaving aid, but we need your support more than ever as this catastrophe spirals into what the U.N. warns could become the “biggest humanitarian horror story of the 21st century.” Will you make an emergency donation to our Where Most Needed Fund today to help our team save lives in Syria and other places affected by violence and crisis around the world?

In war-torn northwest #Syria, more than 500,000 children have been displaced since December, and 49 injured and 28 dead since the beginning of the year. Children have a right to a childhood that’s healthy, happy and safe. No child should have to run for his or her life.

For three years Mozaic has served over 200 families of refugees and women in crisis. We have built a strong relationship with our community members through our events and services.

Our five programs are designed to build a better, stronger, and more independent community. Our mission is to always put our hearts in everything we do to make a difference in people’s life.

1. Mozaic Care: this program focuses on case management and financial assistance which includes care packages and other drives. Unfortunately we currently can’t take any new cases due to the high number of clients that we are serving.

2. SafarTas Refugee Kitchen(Mozaic Kitchen): this program was created for the refugees and new immigrants who have high culinary skills. It helps promote and market their food through bazaars and catering orders. This program put over twelve chefs in business last year. This year SafarTas reached a point where it is in dire need of support in order to get to the next level.

3. Mozaic Social Lounge: this program focuses on life skills through workshops and lectures. One of our main achievements, after three years of service, was mental health & wellness. We offered over 250 hours of individual therapy sessions to our clients.

4. Vocational Training: this program is about hands on workshops and training that help attendees find jobs and learn more about the job market.

5. Warith: this is our Islamic educational program which includes women and children, and will be expected to serve youth in the near future. We offer classes and open halaqas (circles of knowledge) to strengthen the bonds of sisterhood and inspire women and children to become overall better community members.

Goodby sweetheart 💕💞💘

Thank you for everyone who asked about Sheyma lately. Sheyma has returned back to Turkey two weeks ago after she completed all medical treatment possible.

This beautiful soul left a big vacuum in everyone’s heart. She was a blessing to all of us and the farewell wasn’t easy on any of the team members who were there for her in every detail and on daily basis.

We ask Allah to grant Sheyma happy life and ease her test. We also ask Him to bless everyone who helped or had an intention to help and every person who dedicated their time and efforts and contributions for her.

She will always be missed

On March 12th ...

“It is my pleasure to be here on behalf of the Syrian refugees. I am here to share with you a glimpse of the suffering they have endured due to the war and immigration.

While it is generally great to travel, discover new destinations, and learn about new cultures, this is not the case for one who has no choice but to leave his or her home in order to flee their country.

Since 2011, the war in Syria has resulted in the displacement of more than 12 million people domestically and internationally.

The majority of these displaced Syrians live as asylum seekers and refugees with low incomes.

The migration tragedy can be divided into three components: pre-migration, migration, and post-migration.

The horror of the war and its dangers, loss of family members, language barriers, cultural differences, fear of more loss, the fear of not being accepted by host societies, the effect of unemployment, and social status and integration can all cause mental and emotional stress on many different levels.”

After a long day in the hospital, Randa is on her way back home. The surgery that she had today will help her get her eye pressure down but will not help her gain her vision back in her right eye.
With the help of our wonderful donors we could cover 50% of the cost of this surgery and we are asking for more financial help to be able to cover the other half that is due next month.
Randa has no relatives in the US. She is currently looking for a job. She has worked as a receptionist in a medical office for 3 years, her English language is excellent and she has a work permit. She’s open to any descent work that covers her basic needs.

Special thanks to the ophthalmologist who wrote off 60% of his surgery fees.
