Families, friends, along with elected officials and the leadership of the New Jersey National Guard honored the Soldiers of the Operational Mentor and Liaison Team (OMLT) #2 and the 444th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment (MPAD) at a farewell ceremony at the Lawrenceville National Guard Armory on Oct. 3, 2020. The OMLT is a small team of officers and NCOs whose primary task is to coach, teach and mentor Afghan National Army (ANA) units, provide the conduit for liaison and Command and Control and, when required, support the operational planning and employment of the ANA. The 444th MPAD will be providing half the service members working in the Public Affairs Office for Joint Task Force Guantanamo during their one-year deployment to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba

Chief Warrant Officer 5 Larry Grace is retiring next year after 43 years of service in the Vermont Army National Guard. Mr. Grace has performed in a remarkable manner by enhancing lethality, small arms marksmanship, and the combat readiness of the Green Mountain Boys. Of note, he is the 1990 U.S. Army Small Arms Combat Pistol Champion. The USAMU CSM will present him with a Certificate of Achievement, the 1990 Small Arms Championship Bulletin, and a Unit Coin. We wish him the best of luck during his retirement next year. See less
