2020 could not spoil our joy as we pressed on with a night of recognition and giving back.
No, we did not fly leadership out to host elegant events in multiple geographies this year. Rather, we held a BYO event with music and fun in the comfort of our own homes. We presented a long list of Q3 an Q4 staff performance awards and our coveted InTec President’s award. We also presented a Department of Justice Lifetime Achievement Award to a retired US Marshal- now in our InTec family.
We “gave back”- to our employees and the community. For our employees, the “Price is Right” wheel was spun to pick winners of several prizes through the evening. For the community, we announced the winners of our annual charity selection.
While it was not our “normal” time together, 2020 has taught us to make the best of the hand dealt to us- and we did that.

(InTec'rs, feel free to share a pic or two from last night in the comments)

InTec Gives Back 2020

Tradition. Each year InTec employees nominate a list of their supported charities and then vote on the slate to determine which will receive financial contribution from InTec. The top 5 charities each receive $12,000 this year (with some being matched on Giving Tuesday). Additionally, and since inception, InTec annually gives $250 to the Fisher House for each employee hired. For 2020, Fisher House will also receive $12,000 for the 48 new hires this year. For 2020, InTec’s giving of $72,000 had a total impact of $108,000 with matched donations.

Service to our country is at the core of who we are at InTec.
98% of our workforce served as federal employees or contract industry partners for much of their careers. ~50% have served in uniform (pictured is a small subset of InTec’s Vets).

To all who took the oath to serve at home or abroad, active duty, reserves, or National Guard, THANK YOU and Happy Veterans Day.

Even in tough times, we must progress.

We’re starting a new chapter of InTec in a new space and can’t wait for the time when we can host visitors.

Happy Birthday DoD!

In 1949, amendments made to the National Security Act of 1947 led to the official renaming of the military’s executive department. The newly renamed Department of Defense was also unified under the secretary of defense.

We remember and honor all who gave the ultimate sacrifice in service. This year, in addition to those we've lost in our armed services, let's also remember those we've lost on the frontlines of today's war- doctors, nurses, and first responders.

InTec Founder Supports “The Wall That Heals”

On Veterans Day 1996, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund (VVMF) unveiled a half-scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., designed to travel to communities throughout the United States. Since its dedication, The Wall That Heals has been displayed at nearly 600 communities throughout the nation, spreading the Memorial’s healing legacy to millions.

Bringing the Wall home to communities throughout our country allows the souls enshrined on the Memorial to exist once more among family and friends in the peace and comfort of familiar surroundings. The traveling exhibit provides thousands of veterans who have been unable to cope with the prospect of facing The Wall to find the strength and courage to do so within their own communities, thus allowing the healing process to begin.

For 2020, The Wall That Heals tour is starting in Marco Island, Florida. As an Army Veteran and now resident of Marco Island, Bruce Donaldson, InTec’s Founder, is volunteering with the mobile team in setting up for the first leg of what will be a rewarding year-long tour for the Wall.

All Gave Some. Some Gave All.

InTec Gives Back- 2019

Each year InTec employees nominate charities that they personally support or are passionate about. The employees then vote, and the top 5 charities (6 for 2019) receive a financial contribution from InTec. The selected charities for 2019 to receive $10,000 include: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (https://www.stjude.org/); Wounded Warrior Project (https://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/); American Cancer Society (https://www.cancer.org); Alzheimer’s Association (https://www.alz.org); Special Olympics Area-23 (http://www.pwsova.org/pwso/); and Joni and Friends (http://www.joniandfriends.org/).

Also, every year InTec donates $250 for each new hire to Fisher House (https://fisherhouse.org/). This year $10,500 was donated to Fisher House.

Of note, most of these donations were doubled as part of “Giving Tuesday”.

Giving is a proud InTec tradition.
