Fort Belvoir Recycling Program Ft Belvoir recycling center and scale house are located at building 1089. 6010 Pohick Road Ft Belvoir VA 22060. The hours of operation are Monday to Friday 7 am to 4 pm. There is a 24 hours drop off location at the front of the center.

Ft Belvoir has a multi-faceted recycling and waste minimization program that includes office recycling in over 250 office buildings; a volunteer drop-off program accessible 24 hours a day; bulk construction debris collection site for tenants and partners; and yard waste composting. White paper; mixed paper; newspaper; aluminum, steel, and bi-metal cans; plastics bottles; glass; and toner cartridges are picked up in more than 250 administrative and industrial buildings across the Installation. Additionally, The Recycling Center is a drop-offcenter for other commodities such as cardboard, scrap metal, lead-acid batteries, and used motor oil. The Recycling center do not accept household hazardous waste. All questions regarding such waste should be directed to your local county, or RCI for on post residents. We also provide a truck/car weight station at the recycling center. Only Ft Belvoir residents, retired and current military personel and their family may use the weight station. Ft Belvoir Recycling Center and Weight station are located at building 1089. 6010 Pohick Road, Ft Belvoir VA 22060. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday 7:am to 4:pm. Ft Belvoir Recycling Program celebrates America Recycles Day on November 15, 2013. We welcome everyone to participate by bringing all your recyclables to the Recycling Center. Recyclables includes: plastics, aluminum cans, bi-metal/steel cans, white and mixed papers, magazines, cardboard, lead-acid batteries, scrap metal, toner cartridges and used motor oil. We do not accept paint or household hazardous waste.

General information

Fort Belvoir's Recycling Program is a qualified recycling program per Army Regulation 200-49 and Executive Order 13101. Corresponding laws governing such a program are Title 10 Section 2577 (Disposal of Recyclable Materials) of the United States Code and Title 32 Part 172 (Disposition of Proceeds from DoD Sales of Surplus Personal Property) of the US Code of Federal Regulations. Fort Belvoir has a policy letter which dictates that recycling is mandatory for military, civilian, and tenant organizations on post. This letter is renewed annually and is distributed to all organizations and tenants of Fort Belvoir. Technical support for the Installation's recycling operation is administered by the Directorate of Public Works, Environmental and Natural Resources Division. Technical support is provided to four major elements of the recycling program. These elements includes: Recycling Database Maintenence, Recycling Inventory, Recycling Operations, and Outreach and Education.
