Fairfield, California - Solano County District Attorney Krishna A. Abrams announced today that the Solano County District Attorneyโs Office, together with the Solano County Superior Court and Orchard Avenue Baptist Church hosted a community event where participants with outstanding warrants for minor offenses were invited to come โMake it Right.โ The โMake It Rightโ Clear Your Warrant Program was held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at the Orchard Avenue Baptist Church in Vacaville. The event was designed to help members of the community clear up old eligible warrants and have low level misdemeanor offenses dismissed with no financial cost and no risk of arrest.
The Solano County District Attorneyโs Office first launched the โMake It Rightโ Clear Your Warrant Campaign in November 2021, partnering with St. Stephen CME Church in Fairfield. At that time, our office reviewed thousands of old outstanding misdemeanor/infraction warrants dating back to 1980 and notified all those eligible for relief. The charges ranged from traffic infractions, failure to appear, petty theft, to minor drug possession.
We had a great turnout for the event in 2021 and Saturdayโs event was no different. People came from near and far to clear up old warrants and take advantage of this valuable โsecond chanceโ opportunity.
One of the attendees, Meredith Hursh, made the long drive from Burlingame after questioning family members if the event was legitimate. Despite questioning whether these events actually exist, she trusted her family members and decided to attend. After her bench warrant was recalled and her case dismissed, she expressed great relief that she could finally put this matter behind her.
Deputy District Attorney Matt Olsen, who served as the prosecutor in the make-shift courtroom, described seeing a wide range of emotions amongst attendees, specifically stating, โThis was an uplifting and powerful experience seeing so many people overcome with tears of joy, smiles, and countless words of gratitude.โ
We wish to thank all the volunteers from the community who came out to make this event a success, specifically, Gail and Skip Thompson who work tirelessly with the unhoused population in Vacaville, Orchard Avenue Baptist Church and all their volunteers, Women of Unity Church, Change And New Beginnings, SPCA, Solano County Collaborative Courts, and Solano County Workforce Development Board. We also want to thank Vacaville Police Chief Chris Polen for supporting our efforts in giving second chances at this event.
โThe โMake it Rightโ event was much more than simply clearing old cases off the docket. It was a community coming together, putting their past behind them, and being able to make a difference in so many peopleโs lives. We are thankful that this event was once again a great success,โ said District Attorney Krishna Abrams.
