Help Light Up the Town Hall Sidewalk!

The Fairhaven Historical Commission is currently conducting fundraising efforts to privately fund the Historic Street Lamp Project around Town Hall.
Six (6) decorative Victorian Street Lamps will be installed around the Fairhaven Town Hall Block. Two (2) in front of Town Hall, Two (2) on William St. and Two (2) on Walnut St.
The generosity of Six (6) sponsors has already made it possible to purchase the street lamps.
Additional funds are needed to purchase all the necessary supplies to make the electrical connections. (wire, electrical boxes, lamp foundations and other assorted supplies).
Underground pipes are already in place to support the electrical feed for these lights.
Please consider a monetary donation of any size to make this worthwhile project a reality.
Checks can be made payable to:

NOTICE: FLAG POLE IS DAMAGED.

The Fairhaven Historical Commission is responsible for the flag that flies at Fort Phoenix. We mean no disrespect for not flying the flag at 1/2 staff for the entire time of Honor for the Servicemen killed in Afghanistan. There is a problem with the pulley or "Truck" at the top of the pole. If we put the flag at 1/2 staff we chance damaging the truck further by the rope pulling on an angle and then we can not fly a flag at all. We made the decision to leave the flag full staff, as not to cause further damage, in Honor of all who service the United States of America. Our only other would have been to remove the flag during the 1/2 staff period which we feel would have been far more disrespectful. I hope that everyone understands this is done out of respect and not the opposite. Repairs are scheduled for October after the summer season winds down.

Please support Article 23C- for re-construction of the Academy front door project. This structure is one of the oldest town owned buildings that houses a town government office (Office of Tourism) and also serves as a museum for the Historical Society. This office serves as an informational center for tourists visiting Fairhaven.

The Fairhaven School Committee had it's first meeting to review the new athletic field at Fairhaven High School. In addition to the artificial turf, the plan calls for a bathroom facility building. The proposed location is at the South-West corner of the field. Right in front of the school along Route 6. THIS IS AN UNACCEPTABLE LOCATION and it must be changed, Voice your opinion to the School Committee members and don't allow this building to be put in the front of one of our most beautiful and historic buildings on the National Register.
