It feels so odd this week not getting ready for a Huttleston Marketplace.

09/21/2021

At "day one" of the Huttleston Marketplace in June 2018, there were 32 booths. The following ten from that original group were with us last Saturday on the final week of the 2021 season:

Cyd’s Kitchen, baked goods

Lisa Elliott, hand woven wearables and home accessories

Barbosa Family Farm, fresh fruit, vegetables, herbs, plants

New Bedford Pottery Works, handmade ceramics made in New Bedford

Maria Machado, jewelry

For the Birds, handmade bird houses, pvc pipe birds

Thank you to everyone for a successful Season 4 of the Huttleston Marketplace, which closed on Saturday. Ten of the booths set up this week were set up on the opening day of the marketplace date, June 16, 2018. During this 2021 season, more than 150 different vendors from throughout the region took part in the marketplace. A great many of them are looking forward to returning in 2022, but I'm sure we'll be seeing new faces, too.

Thank you to the Fairhaven School Department for allowing us to use the property; John Charbonneau at Public Works for arranging the trash barrels and trash removal; David Flaherty and Jocelyn Bowers at the Health Department for the food permitting; Erin Hedges for being my stand-in during vacation week; and every vendor and shopper who came to the marketplace.

Ron O'Berry Jr. Christopher Richard is a great guy. No one cares more about Fairhaven, its people, their safety and the safety and wellbeing of others. He always has and will continue to do his best regarding health regulations and the marketplaces interaction with the public. Although I'm not as active a vendor as I originally was, knowing how this event is operated, I would not hesitate to sign on as a vendor. I wish Chris continued success. Sincerely, Ron O'Berry Jr.
