Hi, I’m Katy Crawley, and I’m running for Fairview City Council.
Fairview is more than just my home, it’s the community my husband and I chose to raise our family in, build our lives in, and give back to every chance we get. While my husband is from Sanpete, I was born and raised in Utah and have spent most of my life surrounded by small towns, open spaces, and hardworking people who care about their neighbors and have fallen in love with Sanpete County, Fairview specifically. I’m also a military dependent, which gave me a unique appreciation for service, sacrifice, and the importance of strong, resilient communities.
I’m a Girl Scout leader, a former pageant queen, an active volunteer, and the organizer behind events like the Fairview special event and farmers markets. I love bringing people together, whether it’s for a market, a parade, or just a shared moment that reminds us why small-town life is worth protecting.
One of my strongest values is safety. After my young son survived being hit by a truck in another town, I became deeply committed to advocating for safer roads, not only here in Fairview but throughout Sanpete County. That experience changed how I view city planning, traffic, and what it means to protect our residents, especially our kids.
I’m also a strong supporter of the Cycle Sanpete initiative and their vision to bring a bike trail through the county, connecting towns and encouraging safe, healthy recreation. I’ve made it a personal priority to see Fairview participate in that effort, it’s a project that would benefit families, students, local businesses, and visitors alike.
I’m not running on a platform of growth just for growth’s sake. I want to grow in community, in our connections, our resources, our traditions. I believe in protecting our rural way of life while supporting the things we already love, our city library, our historic charm, our gatherings and events, and our tight-knit spirit. I want to keep the good and make it better, not bigger.
If elected, I will always be approachable, honest, and driven by what matters most to the people who live here. I believe local government should listen, reflect the community’s voice, and serve with integrity.
Thank you for the support, the conversations, the encouragement, and the trust. I would be honored to represent you on the Fairview City Council.
