Today was an exciting day because the SSTAR Prevention team was able to talk to 70+ youth involved in Durfee High School’s Project Red and Black initiative regarding substance use prevention and youth involvement in our work. Working with the youth in our community is our favorite part of the job and the SSTAR Prevention team is so excited to begin working with you!

Santa returns to FRCMedia tongiht at 5pm for our annual North Pole LIVE! telecast. Kids can talk with Santa and share their gift lists. Call 508-730-3272. The show will also include the reading of holiday stories from the Fall River Public Library and locally performed holiday music.

National Recovery Month (Recovery Month) is a national observance held every September to educate Americans that substance use treatment and mental health services can enable those with a mental and/or substance use disorder to live a healthy and rewarding life.
Yesterday evening, SSTAR Prevention staff participated in International Overdose Awareness Day (IOAD) events in Fall River and Taunton.
During International Overdose Awareness Day we remember the folks lost to addiction and the loved ones left behind. We also recognize the people doing critical work to help prevent overdose fatalities.
Some members of the SSTAR Prevention Team participated in outreach in Fall River prior to Overdose Awareness Day to provide resources and support to those struggling with a substance use disorder and their families 💜🎗🕯

On 12.4.21 SSTAR Prevention participated in the 37th Annual Fall River Children’s Christmas Parade representing our MeB4Use Campaign. We had a blast!!!
