The new Medic 6 has arrived! This unit should be in service shortly, following the installation of a monitor mount, suction base, narcotics safe and some minor mechanical adjustments. By our top notch technicians from the Maintenance division. Then an inspection from Ma DPH OEMS and this unit will be placed into service for our Paramedics and EMT’s to provide the best medical care possible to the citizens of our city!!

Our hearts are heavy, and our thoughts are with the families of the Paramedic and Police Officers involved. Paramedics and EMTs go into houses, often without hesitation to help people in their time of need. We walk into unknown situations, often without police or someone to “protect” us. Unfortunately, we can no longer focus only on patient care. Heighten awareness and being mindful of a “normal” situation that can turn in a second. EMS is a very important part of public safety that comes with risks on every call.

Two police officers and a paramedic were killed Sunday morning in Minnesota, according to local news reports.

Some EMS vehicles such as this SUV are not used for transporting patients but instead carry specialized equipment to an EMS scene. From hazardous material spills, to active shooter incidents and everything in between, our Nation’s EMS providers are ready to respond no matter what.

Yesterday our crews had quite the busy day. They tended to numerous Critical/Priority calls over the 24 hour shift. Our MIH(Mobile Integrated Health) Division, also transported multiple critical patients to Boston from South Coast Area hospitals. Excellent work by our dedicated providers!

City of Fall River Emergency Medical Services totaled 106 call for service for the shift, not including any Mutual Aid assistance that may have come into the City.

Members of City of Fall River Emergency Medical Services/Professional Paramedics of Fall River delivered 50 winter jackets to The Salvation Army of Fall River. Members picked tags and purchase jackets for the children and our Staff packaged them up for delivery

Our Crews have been pretty busy today.

As of this post there have been over 50 calls for service in the city today and still coming in. Our units are running back to back calls. We currently have Somerset, Freetown and Swansea in the city assisting with Mutual Aid coverage.

*Update* We finished the 24 hour shift with 96 calls for service, not including those that went to Mutual Aid. We had 85 calls during the first 16 hours of the shift.

Strong work!!

In the afternoon of 26 October 2023 at 1215hrs providers assigned to Squad 11, Medic 5 and EMS 3 assisted in the labor and delivery of a healthy baby girl.

Today Lt Oldham of the Professional Standards division presented our providers with a Certificate of Recognition and a customary stork pin that is awarded to providers who assist in a field delivery.
