DYK that physical activity is important for your child’s mental and physical development? That’s why infants need their tummy time and toddlers need to play, run, skip, and hop. Don’t let the cold weather stop you from being active! If it’s too cold outside, get active inside! Have a family dance party or build an indoor obstacle course. There are lots of ways to be active indoors. For more ideas, visit: https://www.pbs.org/parents/thrive/8-indoor-activities-to-release-kids-energy

Do you freeze your unused fruits and vegetables instead of throwing them away? Here's a great tip & money saver$$$!

We have all done it before--we buy fresh fruits and vegetables and before we know it, they’ve gone bad. Instead of throwing them away, try freezing the fruits and vegetables you know you won’t be eating. They can last in the freezer for more than 6 months! For tips on how to freeze your fresh produce, visit: http://ow.ly/cU3h50Hl5x5

"WIC's increased veggie and fruit benefit have helped provide my family with more healthy options to encourage my kids to try new foods and enjoy their meals! WIC has also provided us with resources and education to help us choose healthy foods when grocery shopping and preparing meals. Thank you, WIC!"
-Alyssa

Congress has until February 18 to #ExtendTheWICBump, or millions of WIC families will lose their access to increased vegetables and fruits on April 1.
