Bristol Community College in Fall River announces open enrollment in the following course for the Winter/Spring 2018 semester. Senior citizens (60+) and veterans may be eligible for a waiver of tuition for credit courses. Non-credit registration is available for ½ tuition. Full details, costs, and registration for all courses are available at www.bristolcc.edu, see Sustainable Agriculture under “Course Search”: Courses begin January 23, 2018. AGR 122 Natural Beekeeping Practices: Beginning beekeeping principles & practices for hobbyists, gardeners, farmers, and commercial beekeepers. We will cover bee biology, starting and maintaining a beehive, economics of beekeeping, harvesting & using bee products. Mondays 6:00-8:50 pm (classes run 7 weeks, Feb. 5.-April).

The Fruit Tree Grafting workshop will be on Wednesday, March 29 from 3:30 to 5:30 pm in E100 at BCC, Fall River. Cost is $25/person. Please register at the following link. There is a description of the workshops in Taunton plus our BCC workshop under “Update”. Be sure you register for the specific workshop session at BCC.

Hands-on Apple and Stone Fruit Grafting Workshops

HANDS-ON APPLE AND STONE FRUIT GRAFTING WORKSHOPS
Spring Rain Farm in East Taunton is once again hosting this hands-on workshop with step-by-step instructions on how to graft and care for apple trees, plus an evening dedicated to stone fruit (plums, apricots, peaches)! Some of the best varieties for New England will be available, along with all necessary tools and materials. Attendees will leave with a strong knowledge of planting site selection and early tree care, along with up to five of their own personally grafted trees!!
Three time slots available, all running 6pm-8pm: Apples on Saturday 3/25 and Monday 3/27; Stone fruit on Sunday 3/26. Up to 10 attendees per class. Asking price for attendance is $25, if this is a barrier for you please reach out to the instructor William McCaffrey at wnm3 @ cornell.edu.
