On Wednesday, 10 November, COL Jim Goetschius presented Mr. Chris Cabral with the Meritorious Civilian Service Medal and a token of thanks for his service with HFPA. Chris transferred to the Defense Health Agency in June. He leads the project office at the Army Public Health Center laboratory replacement at Aberdeen Proving Ground.

CPT John Blumhorst participated in an interdisciplinary studio with students from the University of Washington, University of Arizona, and University of Pennsylvania who collaborated with Google to develop a sustainable data center design proposal. LTC Olegario Coss, Mr. Dave Fortune, and COL Chris Kiss joined together with hundreds of other cyclists on 9 October to participate in the Lime Metric Century Ride in Reston, VA. The event was also a fund raiser to support people with disabilities. Look at those smiles! The photo must have been taken before the ride. 😁

COL Warren Stewart hosted the ceremony, which was well attended by family, friends, and colleagues. Many more watched the live stream online. LTC Rodriguez is HFPA's Director for Operational Support.

Congratulations to the HFPA teammates and alumni who were advanced as Health Facility Institute Fellows this week at the HFI Symposium in San Antonio, TX: COL Jim Goetschius, Mr. Darren McWhirt, Mr. Chris Phillips, Mr. Ed Rodriguez, and Mr. Chris Rutz.
On 19 August, two MEDEVAC aviators and health facility planners changed command at Fort Polk, LA. MAJ Ralph Salazar relinquished command of Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 5th Aviation Regiment, commonly known as "Cajun Dustoff," to MAJ Chris DiMaio. The company provides medical evacuation services to Fort Polk, the Joint Readiness Training Center, and the surrounding community. We wish Ralph and Chris all the best and look forward to getting them back to health facility planning sometime soon.
