From Sara El-Amine:
I know we're all focused on August right now (and the summer!), but fall really is already right around the corner.

There's going to be a lot to do, and we want to make sure that we have the best possible team out there helping to get it done.

OFA Fall Fellows will be part of a three-month volunteer program where they'll learn and perfect their organizing skills.

Time is running out -- applications are due August 8th -- so make sure you pass this along now to anyone you know who might be interested.

This fall, we'll be working hard to tell the stories of how Obamacare is working, making sure the House votes on comprehensive immigration reform, pressuring Congress to take action on climate change, and on keeping the economy on the right track -- and much more.

It's going to be hard work, but also a lot of fun.

This is a great opportunity to meet new people, learn new skills, and make your voice heard in your community.

Don't miss out. Applications are due on August 8th -- so get yours in or pass this along to anyone who should apply today:

From Mark Keam:
Dear Julia,

We are just a little over 100 days away from this year’s elections.

On Tuesday, November 5, 2013, Virginians will choose a new Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General and members of the House of Delegates.

In addition to these state races, if you live in Fairfax County, you will be choosing a new Sheriff as well. And I’m so pleased that my friend Stacey Kincaid will join me on the same ballot!

Last night, the Fairfax County Democratic Committee selected Stacey as our Party’s nominee to replace the County Sheriff who retired recently. When Stacey is elected in November, she will become the first female Sheriff in Fairfax County!

I couldn’t be more pleased to be campaigning with Stacey, Terry McAuliffe, Ralph Northam and Mark Herring.

We are running on a positive agenda that brings people together to support good jobs, strong schools, clean environment, smart transportation, and public safety.

To help us win, we will need your help throughout the next 100 days. There’s no substitute for shoe leather, so please come to one of our field offices to help us contact voters.

Our volunteers have already been knocking on doors and making phones throughout the 35th House District.

We have two canvassing locations in my House district where volunteers and coordinated campaign staff are working every single day to help me and the rest of our Democratic ticket:

1952 Gallows Road, Suite 210, Vienna, VA 22183
Contact: Monica Sarmiento (202) 509-1497 or [email protected]

2435 Flint Hill Road, Vienna, VA 22181
Contact: Sue Langley (703) 403-0190 or [email protected]

Canvassing shifts: Every Saturday at 10:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Phone banks: Mondays through Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

And, this Saturday, July 27, Terry McAuliffe will be joining us in Vienna to kick off the neighborhood door knocks. Click here to sign up for a canvassing shift.

Finally, don’t forget that my next campaign event will feature a very special guest!

Senator Dick Durbin is the second highest ranking member of the U.S. Senate, and the person who – literally – introduced Barack Obama to the nation, a decade ago in Boston.

I’m very excited to have Sen. Durbin’s support for my reelection campaign and I hope you can join us on Monday evening, July 29, as detailed below.

Thank you for all you do for me. I promise to work as hard as I can to win on November 5th and continue to bring you results!

More from Sue Langley:

Additional areas we will canvas this weekend include-- Flint Hill Wolftrap, Westbriar, and Corvin, and the already mention-- Town of Vienna. These additional areas we will get supports for Democratic candidate Kathleen Murphy (Wolftrap, Westbriar, and Corvin) who is running against Barbara Comstock the tea party incumbent. We also will canvas for our famous Delegate Ken Plum in Flint Hill precinct.

If you have time to work in the office in Vienna, please let me know. We still need some pens, paper clibs, water, energy bars, phones. Thank you.

From Sue Langley:

Terry McAuliffe and a few special guests (Delegate Ken Plum has confirmed) will be at my house to launch our canvassing. I am working hard to get our DPVA chairwoman here as well. We will canvass for all state wide candidates as well as our delegates-- Mark Keam (Town of Vienna), Kathleen Murphy (Wolftrap/Westbriar/Corvin), and Ken Plum (Flint Hill). I need 100 canvassers. We will be calling people everyday. We are a long way to meet our goal. If you want to help with the call we are doing the calls everyday at the office (1952 Gallows Road, Suite 210, Vienna 22182). The major call night is Thursday at my house (2435 Flint Hill Rd, Vienna, 22181) from 5-9pm (with Italian dinner). If you cannot come, but want to help, let me know. For those who already signed up, Thank you!

Don't let a day goes by without helping us getting closer to claim a victory on Nov. 5. We also still need those office supplies and furniture. We have sofar two tables. We need two more tables and lots of chairs.
