Bowers-Wiliams has served for 20 years and continues to serve as Operations NCOIC at the 210th Regional Training Institute. Bowers-Williams expressed her gratitude for the opportunities afforded to her as a member of the guard. “I was able to travel to several destinations that I may not have been able to see had I taken a different career path,” said Bowers-Wiliams. "Most importantly, I am grateful to have been a role model to other soldiers that have been under my guidance."

On this day in U.S. Army history circa 1945, the 17th Airborne Division conducted Operation Varsity alongside our British allies. It was the largest one-day airborne drop of World War II using 600 transports & 1300 gliders against the Axis powers.
No matter the year, the U.S. Army mission remains constant. We deploy, fight and win for our Nation. Whether a Soldier flies with the 17th Airborne, or works finance support, every role is vital to our success.

It's #WomensHistoryMonth and we're celebrating the women who make the U.S. Army great. During the Revolutionary War, women served the U.S. Army in traditional roles as nurses, seamstresses and cooks for troops in camp. Some courageous women served in combat either alongside their husbands or disguised as men, while others operated as spies for the cause. Now, #StrongWomen serve in all faucets of our service and we couldn't be prouder!
