Once the survey closes, suggestions will be reviewed and given to the Historical Park Board for consideration, then the Board will give their recommendation to City Council.

Apply to serve on the Multicultural Task Force! ๐คฉ ๐๐
A new Multicultural Event will be added to our 2024 events calendar, and to make this the best event it can be, City leaders are looking for volunteers to serve on a Multicultural Event Task Force.
The Task Force will develop recommendations on items such as the event theme and logo, entertainment and educational programming, site dรฉcor, food selections, site layout and logistics, sponsorship, and community outreach.
Residents to be considered should reflect the many diverse cultures and ethnicities in Farmers Branch and should have the desire to serve. Persons who are not necessarily residents of the City but have strong ties to the community and have a background that is beneficial and relevant to the goals and purpose of the Task Force are also encouraged to apply.

Set to open in late August, Joya at Oran Good Park will be Texasโ first open-space glow-in-the-dark playground.
We are so proud ๐ of our Historical Park team for bringing home the top award ๐ฅ for Arts & Humanities Programming from the Texas Recreation and Parks Society. While they were awarded for the event, Dia de los Mu***os Celebration, this group puts on exceptional programming and events year-round at the Historical Park. Congratulations, this is very well deserved! ๐๐๐
The Historical Park team (L-R: Hillary Kidd, Kim Jolly Chapman, Lauren Prengler, Tony Derrick, and Bonnie Neumann) were honored this week at the 2023 Texas Recreation & Parks Society (TRAPS) state conference. The event, Dia de los Mu***os Celebration (Day of the Dead) won the Arts & Humanities Programming Achievement Award, beating out all other class III cities (populations of 25,001-75,000) within the state of Texas. This event previously won the Arts and Humanities Programming Achievement Award for the North Region of TRAPS in November 2022. Congratulations to the Historical Park and Parks and Recreation Department on receiving this multi-awarding winning programming achievement!
