ADOPTED!!!!

Twinlke is ready for her forever home!
Twinkle is an an all-around great dog! She is a three-year-old German Shepard and currently weighs 57 pounds. She is sweet, smart, and easy-going. She gets along well with other dogs and loves all humans. She likes to play with cats as well - so she will do best with cats that do not mind that kind of attention. Twinkle LOVES car rides, Nyla bones, and belly rubs. She is very praise oriented, and the best reward for her is a pet, even if that means flopping on the sidewalk to get one. Twinkle has good house manners, but, on occasion, she checks out the kitchen counter with her long snout and might help herself to "treats" within reach. But no one is perfect and this girl is as close to perfection as they come. Twinkle was heartworm positive when she came into our care and required medical treatment for it. She needs to be activity restricted through December 10 until she finishes her last medication. She also needs to be on monthly heartworm prevention consistently for the rest of her life to prevent another infection. Heartworm disease is mosquito born, is preventable with monthly heartworm medication. However, when left untreated, it damages the heart tissue and causes heart failure. To meet Twinkle, visit our shelter during public hours - Monday through Sat., 11:30am to 5:30pm. #adoptdontshop #fosteringsaveslives

10/23/2021

At the Farmington Regional Animal Shelter we want every animal brought to us to have a chance for a long and happy life. Shelters can be very stressful places for pets, and that stress can weaken immune systems and increase vulnerability to illness. Foster homes provide a less stressful housing option that can often speed recovery, minimize behavioral deterioration and increase chances of adoption. Because of our limited resources and personnel, we are not able to care for the many sick, injured and very young but otherwise adoptable animals as we would like to. Foster care will allow some of the young ones to grow and the sick and injured to heal. The foster care program brings caring individuals and needy animals together, providing care in a home setting until the animals are ready for adoption. If you are interested in becoming a FRAS foster, please complete the application online at http://fmtn.org/767/Fostering.

ADOPTED!!

Hunter is one of our longer-term dogs that is really struggling with shelter/kennel life. He's about 1 year old and probably some type of lab/pit mix (best guess). He's tall but not a super big dog (about 60 pounds). Hunter is fun and outgoing and really wants to be someone's buddy. Hunter would probably do best as an only dog or with a friendly, easy going but playful female. We would not recommend him for a home with cats or other small animals.

Hunter is not handling kennel life well and really needs to find a home! It's best to meet and play with him out in our play yards so you can see his true personality- which is fun and energetic! Hunter's adoption fee is $25 through the end of October!

Please help us find Hunter a forever home and save a life!

ADOPTED!!

"Are you my forever human?" If Avery could talk, we think that's what she would be saying. Just look at her searching eyes! Avery was recently brought to the shelter by a Good Samaritan. In a state of confusion and high anxiety, she jumped off the truck while it was still moving and injured all of her four paws. With the help of our dedicated vet team and her amazing foster family, she made a very quick recovery. She went to a foster home to heal in a quiet and loving environment - and loved everything about life in a home. She made friends with the other pets (dogs and cats) and kept looking for a lap to rest her head on as much as possible. Avery now needs a home to call her own! If you can open your home and heart for her, call us at 505-599-8386 to schedule a meet and greet with Avery. Avery is a young Shepard-hound mix, weighing about 50 pounds, spayed and up to date on shots. #fosteringsaveslives #adoptdontshop
