The Town of Brookhaven’s Third Annual Town Recycles Poster Contest is back!
Town Supervisor Dan Panico is inviting students in grades K–12 to get creative and help inspire our community to reduce, reuse and recycle.
This year’s themes are:

🌎 Recycle for a Greener Climate
Winning artwork could even be featured in Town recycling materials!

🏡 TOWN BOARD HIGHLIGHTS | HELPING FIRST-TIME HOMEBUYERS
The Brookhaven Town Board has approved an expansion of its partnership with the Long Island Housing Partnership to help more first-time homebuyers make Brookhaven home.
The expanded agreement will provide assistance to 13 additional first-time homebuyers through the Town’s Down Payment Assistance Program and Employer Assisted Housing Program.

🌳 TOWN BOARD HIGHLIGHTS | PRESERVING BROOKHAVEN
At its latest meeting, the Brookhaven Town Board took action to protect open space and preserve important community resources.
The Board approved measures to preserve additional properties in Mastic and Port Jefferson Station, including land donations and a new open space acquisition that will help protect natural resources for the future.
The Town Board also authorized an engineering assessment for the restoration of the Wading River Duck Ponds, working in partnership with the Town of Riverhead.

One of Brookhaven’s favorite fall traditions is returning to the historic Longwood Estate in Ridge on September 19 & 20!
Spend the weekend enjoying historical reenactments and demonstrations, craft vendors, children’s activities, house museum tours, a dog show, great food and live entertainment — including South Bound! 🎶
And new for 2026, the fun continues after hours with a Beer Tent and live music! 🍺🎵

🏥 Healthcare is Growing in Brookhaven
In this edition of Town Board Highlights, we look at major investments in healthcare across our Town.
The Brookhaven Town Board unanimously approved the expansion of NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk, helping strengthen access to medical services for residents across our community.
We also highlight Stony Brook Medicine’s expansion in Farmingville, another significant investment bringing expanded healthcare services closer to Brookhaven residents.
