The Moton story has been closely connected to four Emmy Award-winning films—each helping carry this history, and the lives shaped by what followed, to audiences far beyond Farmville.
Notably, three of the films were produced by students from Longwood University’s Department of Communication Studies (COMMLab), guided by faculty and rooted in the stories of this community.
Together, they reflect how the Moton story continues to live, grow, and reach new generations through both public media and student storytelling.
The story doesn’t stop at the museum—it continues through film, classrooms, and community voices.
We invite you to watch, learn, and support these Emmy Award-winning films:
