The Neighborhood Garden Coalition

The Neighborhood Garden Coalition Our objective is to involve youth and adults in sustainable gardens and educational programs for underserved communities and those in need. The Neighborhood Garden Coalition was established in 2010 to advance local community revitalization efforts through the development of neighborhood gardens.

Throughout the country, the urban agriculture movement has been helpful in promoting civic engagement, environmental stewardship, and healthy eating habits. The mission of the NGC is to empower communities using urban agriculture to feed themselves, using organic methods, and promote health, nutrition and well being. We promote and provide resources for the development of inclusive community gardens, in which participants of all abilities can share their knowledge, talents, and help each other; while benefitting everyone. We partner with local community stakeholders to transform available land into gardens, plan the project, recruit program participants, and achieve ongoing sustainability. Private funding, grants and donations of materials are used to support the group’s mission. Grants received in 2011 include a Brooksie Way Grant and in 2013 received a grant from Michigan disability rights. Revenues generated from garden product sales are plowed back into the community garden program and support other community-based initiatives as well.

Everyone's Garden

Everyone who donated,

I cannot say thank you enough for taking the time to donate to Everyone’s Garden. Not only did my team exceed our goal for the “profit challenge,” but the money went to a cause that holds a special place in my heart. Donations are an important part of maintaining and growing Everyone’s Garden, so the “challenge” does not stop here. Everyone’s Garden will be using your most recent donations to continue offering their programs for people with disabilities throughout the remainder of the summer.

Once again, thank you for your support.

Best,
Sarah

Finish the wheelchair path to Everyone's Garden

Everyone’s Garden is working to bridge the gap between human needs and special needs.
This summer we have had involvement from over 150 people. This is a real success thanks to all our supporters. Our vision is an inclusive garden for people of all abilities. To achieve this, we need additional funding help to finish our accessible pathways to the garden and within the garden.

We need to raise $2,000. Your donation will help meet this goal. http://www.razoo.com/story/Wheelchair-Accessible-Garden?referral_code=share
