Its with a very heavy heart that we must announce the passing of one of the founding fathers of Central Sabine Fire Department Jimmy was with one of the few that started the fire district many many years ago. He was a awesome guy and a great friend! We will sure miss you 402

Jimmy Eugene Dees, 82, born on July 22, 1941 and passed away on October 19, 2023 in Many, LA. Services will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Alford Heights Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Chance and Rev. Billy Gibbs officiating.

Burial will follow in the Ebenezer Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at 5:00 PM at Alford Heights Baptist Church, Many, LA.

Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene Dees and Hattie Mae (Rains) Dees; son, Justin Dees and brothers, Ted Dees and Roland Dees.

He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Jackie Dees of Many, LA; brother, J. L. Dees and wife Phillis of Many, LA; sons: Truman Dees and wife Missy of Florien, LA, Cory Dees of Many, LA and Jeremy Rhame of Many, LA; daughters: Brandy Rhame (Richard Kubena) of Toro, LA, Jamie Crittenden of Florien, LA, Susie Weaver and husband Chuck Weaver of Many, LA and Robin Chester of Texas; grandchildren: Kristopher Dees (Kiara), Lauren Dees, Adrienne Bradford (CJ), Eric Phillips, Allen Phillips, DeNee’ Cranford, Chancelor Dees, Colby Dees and Austin Scaife (Samantha); along with a host of nieces, nephews, great grandchildren and friends.

Pallbearers: Jo Henry, Doug Ensinger, Bruce Tatum, Kristopher Dees, J. L. Dees II and Phillip Cutrer.

Honorary Pallbearers: Joe Nugent, Rett Nugent, Dewayne Jackson and Stanley Cook.

09/28/2023 South Sabine Fire Department Wards 1&2 has picked up a wicked little ghoul as an October pet. Meet Slimer, the fire blob!!!

Slimer is a very friendly, quiet little guy, but we hear he is an escape artist!!! For that reason, he is chained up at our office. Make your way down to see him or you can visit him on the 28th at the haunted station.

This year the haunted station will be held in Florien Louisiana at the fire station!!! Med Express and AirEvac will on site incase it gets too spooky!!! Great food and fun yall come on out!!

Arrangements for Mr Carroll

the wake will be this Thursday at cenchra church and the funeral will be held Friday at 2.

Sabine parish has lost another great man. With his family by his side Mr Carroll Ellzey went home to be with the lord last night.

Mr Carroll held many hats in our parish, he was also a firefighter for the South Sabine fire Dist Wards 1&2. He was a past district chief and currently held a assistant chief role in the fire department. He was a great mentor to so many young firefighters and people all across the parish looked up to him. He will be remembered by hundreds for his kind words and his leadership roles he held.

Update********

Johnny's funeral is Monday. Viewing is from 9am til time of the funeral which is 2pm. Burial to follow at the family plot at Devil's Branch. Funeral at Jenkins funeral home in Many.

It's with very a heavy heart that I have to post this. Today around 3pm we lost one of our very own! If you knew this man, you knew what he stood for. He was one of a kind, and one you will never forget. And most of all,,, he was my friend. This man was fisher! Just a month or 2 ago he lost his home in fisher due to a fire and Today our station and community lost a icon! Most everyone in the parish knew him or knew of him. He was well known and loved by so many. He could get you mad and 30 seconds later have you hurting from laughing so hard. Our community and fire district will forever cherish the memories that you leave behind brother. We all love you and will forever remember you as ( Fisher 2 )
