Fitchburg residents are invited to apply for a vacancy on the Fitchburg School Committee.

The City Council and School Committee will meet in Joint Convention on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at 6:00 PM in the Legislative Building (700 Main Street) to appoint one (1) individual to fill an unexpired term ending January 1, 2030.
To be considered, please submit:
• A hard copy letter of interest
• A current resume
• A signed Acceptance of Candidacy form (available at the City Clerk’s Office)
Deadline to apply: Friday, May 15, 2026 at 4:00 PM
Submit materials to: City Clerk’s Office, 718 Main Street, Fitchburg

Selected applicants will be invited to attend the June 2 meeting and provide a brief (3-minute) presentation prior to the vote.
We encourage interested residents to apply and participate in this important civic opportunity.

On Tues, June 2nd, at 6pm the Fitchburg City Council and Fitchburg School Committee will have a joint meeting to vote in ther person to fill Maritza Knight Ed.D's seat for City of Fitchburg School Committee. This is not a vote for the public, but you may reach out to Fitchburg City Councilors and current School Committee to express your support, opinions, and concerns so that they may do the will of the people.
