Serving our community is one of the most rewarding things we do.

On Wednesday, our team helped distribute 404 dinners at the Flagstaff Family Food Center, providing a warm meal to neighbors in need.

The Flagstaff Family Food Center is open every day and offers free meals to anyone who needs them:
• Lunch: 10:00 AM–2:00 PM
• Dinner: 4:00 PM–5:30 PM

They're always looking for volunteers to help with meal distribution. If you're looking for a meaningful way to give back, consider lending a hand.

You may have recently heard about Cyclosporiasis, a stomach illness caused by a microscopic parasite (Cyclospora) that can sometimes be found on fresh produce. Fruits and veggies remain an important part of a healthy diet, so follow these tips to stay safe:

- Thoroughly wash fresh fruits and vegetables under running water. Use a clean brush on firm produce like melons, cucumbers, or snow peas.
- During the summer months, consider buying whole heads of lettuce or romaine instead of pre-cut packaged salad mixes, and remove the outer leaves before washing.
- Cook thoroughly to kill the parasite. If you are preparing meals for young children, older adults, or anyone with a weakened immune system, sticking to cooked veggies and herbs is a great extra step.

Cyclosporias symptoms usually include persistent watery diarrhea, stomach cramps, fatigue, and nausea that can stick around for a week or more. If you are experiencing these symptoms, reach out to your healthcare provider.
