The Flatonia Lions Club is a Service Organization with the sole purpose of serving the Flatonia community.

Lions Clubs International is the world's largest service club organization with more than 1.3 million members in approximately 45,000 clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas around the world. The Flatonia Lions Club has proudly served its community since 1980. We strive to focus our attention and energies toward the current and pending service tasks of Flatonia, Texas.

At our August 25th meeting, we had the pleasure of welcoming our Zone Chair, Gina Bayer! 🦁💛

Gina shared her journey to becoming Zone Chair and encouraged our members to continue working hard in our efforts to serve our community and others.

We were also proud to present Gina with over 174 pounds of plastic bottle caps collected by our club! The caps will be taken to a recycling center in Mexico, where the funds raised through recycling help support children battling cancer. ♻️❤️

A huge thank you to everyone who helped us collect! Every little effort can make a BIG difference.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who took the time to vote for the Flatonia Lions Club! We truly love serving our community and finding ways to give back, support our local organizations, and help our neighbors whenever we can.

🍎📚 Supporting our Flatonia ISD family!

Last week, the Flatonia Lions Club was proud to provide breakfast for all FISD staff as they kicked off their in-service week! We also made a donation to FISD for school supplies and the Flatonia Education Foundation for their fundraiser!

We are so thankful for the teachers, staff, and administrators who pour so much into our students and community. We’re always proud to support our school personnel and students in any way we can!

This week's Flatonia Lions Club meeting was full of great community updates!

On Tuesday, July 28, we had the pleasure of hearing from Bebe Pavlica, who is running for Fayette County Fair Queen. The Flatonia Lions Club is proud to be her sponsor! Bebe has already shown incredible determination, a heart for service, and a strong work ethic. If you see her around town, be sure to buy your fair tickets and wish her good luck!

Lion David Urban also welcomed Dr. Kurt Kainer of Oak Grove Veterinary Clinic, along with Dr. Dakota and Dr. Bailey Zaplac of Flatonia Veterinary Clinic, who shared valuable information about the screwworm outbreak and what it means for our area.

Flatonia Lions Club Program Spotlight
Lion Robby welcomed Judy Pate from the E. A. Arnim Museum as our guest speaker. As our nation prepares to celebrate its 250th anniversary, Judy shared remarkable photographs from Flatonia's 1912 Fourth of July celebration.

The historic event lasted three days and featured delicious food, baseball games, dancing, and community fellowship. Hearing these stories brought to life through archived Argus newspaper articles was a true joy and a wonderful reminder of Flatonia's rich history.

If you haven't visited the museum recently, be sure to stop by during the month of June to view their beautiful collection of antique wedding dresses on display.

🦁 𝗙𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗮 𝗟𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯 – 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟲 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗽

On Tuesday, May 26, the Flatonia Lions Club welcomed 𝗞𝗲𝗻𝗻𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗰𝗵, Executive Director of 𝗙𝗮𝘆𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗛𝗮𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆, along with volunteer 𝗗𝗼𝘂𝗴 𝗘𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝘁𝘁.

Kenny shared the inspiring story of our local Habitat’s work since its founding in 2004 — building homes from the ground up and offering a 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 that helps homeowners maintain safe, functional, and stable housing.

He also highlighted the 𝗥𝗲𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝘂𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗴, where donations of furniture, building supplies, and equipment are accepted. The store is open for 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀..

Fayette County Habitat for Humanity builds more than houses — they build lasting relationships. Through 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗼𝘄𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁, they set families up for success.

There are many ways to get involved! Whether you enjoy swinging hammers, organizing projects, working with people, or helping with paperwork, there’s a volunteer opportunity for everyone.

The Flatonia Lions Club was so happy to have the opportunity to donate and pass out 70 fans to the Flatonia Area Food Pantry on May 14th!

We truly love being able to give back to our community in any way we can. Each year, we host a fan drive in the summer and a heater/blanket drive in the winter to help support local families in need.

We also encourage our community to get involved and donate when able—every contribution helps us provide more resources to those who need it most.

It's a great day to be a Lion 🦁 Today Lions club members & directors presented a $1,000 check to the Flatonia Secondary campus. During our annual Pie Contest/Auction, we host a competion between the FISD Elementary campus and the FISD Secondary campus. The grand champion winner was Addison Berckenhoff a 9th grader at the secondary campus. CONGRATULATIONS!!! 💛

The Lions Club had the absolute honor and pleasure of donating a bike to every 1st and 2nd grade student at Flatonia Elementary for the 2025–2026 school year! 🚲💛

Seeing the kids’ faces light up brought us so much joy, and we are incredibly thankful to be a small part of making these memories for them. We hope each child gets lots of fun and use out of their new bikes!

We had a wonderful meeting at the Flatonia Lions Club on today, April 28th! 🦁

We were honored to hear from Marci Reat, Preplanning Specialist with Smith Funeral Home, who was invited by Lion Jan. Marci shared valuable information about the benefits and advantages of preplanning, and we encourage anyone with questions to reach out to Smith Funeral Home.

We also had the privilege of installing a new member, Melanie Stone, into the Flatonia Lions Club. Sponsored by Hannah Mica, we are so excited to welcome Melanie and look forward to all she will bring to our club! 💙💛
