Attention Residents of Genesee County: Our office is starting to operate again. Our phones are operational 8-4, Monday-Friday. We are limiting exposure for our staff by asking them to work from home every other day, with a rotating schedule. So if you call, you may be directed to leave a voice mail for our staff, who will return your call hopefully the following business day.
Our office is open to the public by appointment only and only as absolutely necessary. Please take pictures and email documentation to our staff or mail/fax information to our office when possible. To limit exposure, 15 minutes appointments will be available to those who call ahead for an appointment. Parents/guardians are asked to limit, when possible, to just one parent entering our building. You will then ring our buzzer (located on the Southeast corner of our building, facing Saginaw Street) and tell the front desk that you are here for your appointment and include the name of the staff person you are here to see. The front desk will call the staff person down to assist you. You will be required to wear a mask in our building and will be screened for COVID symptoms including having your temperature taken. If you have symptoms of COVID-19, please do not come to our office for an appointment until your symptoms have improved, you are 3 days without a fever and fever-reducing medications, and it has been 10 days since your symptoms first appeared. We thank you in advance for helping to keep our staff and other families safe during this pandemic.
To GCCARD Head Start Families and Staff,
Recently, the media has described the murder of George Floyd, an African American man in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It seems that George Floyd was the victim of police brutality and highlights the ever present racial discrimination that is widely experienced in our Nation. In times like this, we mourn along with Mr. Floyd’s family and the rest of the community and we take time to listen to our community, staff, and families to hear ways that we might improve ourselves personally and professionally. We pledge to continue our efforts to fight discrimination wherever we see it and help to raise a culture of acceptance for people regardless of their race, creed, color, national origin, sex, age, religion, disability, political affiliation, beliefs, or sexual orientation and will always take affirmative action to ensure that applicants to our program and employees are treated equally. This stand is not new to us – we have never tolerated discrimination of any kind. Head Start was founded with a mission to empower marginalized Americans by partnering with families to prepare their children for success in school and life. Today we stand with the millions across our nation who say that racism and prejudice must never be tolerated in any form.

Here’s another fun and active song your kids will love. They will especially love it if YOU do 3 with them! Enjoy!
"Do 3 with Me" is a fun game turned into a song. To play, you must first perform 3 separate movements. Then, you figure out how to perform all three movements at the same time. This funk version of "Do 3 with Me" provides 3 fun ways to play the game. Figure out how many different ways you can perform each one. The end of the song also challenges everyone to create "Do 3 with Me" challenges of their own. EC TLC also has a rendition titled, "Hip Hop 3 with Me." "Country 3 with Me" will be a song on the next album.

Dear families, we are so sad to share this news with you. We were hoping things might be better and we might be able to go. While we respect their decision, for the health of our entire community, we admit to being heartbroken about it.
Crossroads Village will close for the summer season for the first time since it opened more than 40 years ago because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
This is fun, give it a try while it is free!
Fun new music video from Early Childhood TLC! The Pointing Game-fun!!! Enjoy!
EC TLC has combined a classic rhyme with a bomb beat that mocks a chart topping song from the early 2000's. This might be the hottest early childhood song ever!! Both children and adults love getting down to "The Pointing Game!!"
