Septic Systems 101 During Stay at Home

FYI!

Septic System 101 During Stay at Home Webinar

One unintended consequence of the stay home/stay safe order is septic system issues. In the past, many homes were empty for 8-10 hours each weekday while homeowners were at work, school and other activities. Today with families staying home 24/7, more hand washing, more food preparation and more toilets flushing is causing more stress on septic systems. More septic system issues – back ups, overflows, etc. – are occurring .
MSU Extension in partnership with the Macomb County Environmental Health Division is holding a free educational webinar, “Septic Systems 101 During Stay at Home”. This 90-minute webinar will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2019 from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM. The webinar will focus on septic system use, maintenance and troubleshooting your system followed by a real time question and answer portion.
To register for the webinar, go to
https://events.anr.msu.edu/septicsystem101macombmay2020/
The link to downloadable handout materials will be sent with the reminder email for the webinar.

This program will focus on use, maintenance and troubleshooting septic problems during this time of stay home/stay safe.

Wear a cloth face covering to slow the spread of coronavirus. Growing evidence suggests the virus can spread:

• Before people show symptoms (pre-symptomatic) and
• From people who have the virus but never show symptoms (asymptomatic).

You are amazing! So many of you are showing you are #HereForHurley. High school student Tom Tunison made us masks with his 3D Printer. Dan &Lori Thompson made mask holders. Janet Beckston made us handmade masks. Taboon Restaurant has been supplying food for all shifts of front line workers. Their masked bear also brought some needed smiles. Sovita Credit Union is providing lunch, E&LConstruction Group donated N95 masks. One of the owners, John Ray is married to Kimberly, a lab team member. Wish we could mention everyone here but please know your name is being shared with the frontline workers when they receive your donation. We are all forever grateful for your generosity. Thank each and every one of you for being #HereForHurley
