Todays message covers children in the kitchen. It is very important to keep a 3ft. kid free zone around hot surfaces and appliances. This helps reduce the chances of children getting burned or injured in the kitchen. For more information visit www.fpw.org.

'Tis the season. As you begin to decorate for the holidays, please stay safe and water your trees daily! This video shows just how quickly a dried out Christmas tree fire burns, with flashover occurring in less than one minute, as compared to a well-watered tree, which burns at a much slower rate. Today there was an accident on the corner of Miller and Linden. A fireman was in his truck and just happened to be sitting at the light waiting for it to change. As soon as the light changed he pulled up to the accident, made sure everyone was okay and started getting it cleaned up. He even started directing traffic. I know some might say that this is part of their job but he didn’t even stop to think about what needed to be done, he just did it. So thank you for the great job you did today and every day!!!
