Yesterday evening, the Rea Valley Fire Department requested mutual aid for three large brush fires burning along MC 6061 near the Four Corners area. Due to dry conditions and shifting winds, the fires proved difficult to contain and repeatedly jumped established fire lines.

The Flippin Fire Department responded with a tanker, brush truck, command unit, and more than ten firefighters. Crews worked tirelessly alongside Rea Valley personnel to contain the fires and protect surrounding property and land.

As conditions intensified, Rea Valley Fire Department requested additional mutual aid from the Summit Fire Department. Summit responded with a tanker, mini pumper, brush truck, and 6–7 firefighters who immediately joined suppression efforts.

The Arkansas Forestry Commission also responded to the scene and played a critical role by cutting fire breaks around the affected areas. Their efforts allowed fire crews to gain ground and ultimately get ahead of the fires.

Thanks to the coordinated efforts of Rea Valley, Flippin, Summit Fire Departments, and the Arkansas Forestry Commission, crews were able to bring the fires under control safely.

We would like to thank all responding personnel for their dedication and hard work, as well as the community for their patience during the incident. This event serves as an important reminder of the increased fire danger during dry conditions and the importance of exercising caution with outdoor burning.
