Florence County Voter Registration Director Julian Young recently attended a national session in April focused on strengthening election administration and voter services across the country.

The session highlighted important updates involving election infrastructure, federal funding advocacy, and the continued commitment of local election officials working to improve transparency, accessibility, and excellence in elections.

Election officials from 35 states traveled to Washington, D.C. to meet with Congressional offices and advocate for continued support for election administration and infrastructure funding. The discussions also included updates on the nonpartisan Standards for Election Excellence program, which helps election offices strengthen performance and public trust.

Florence County remains committed to staying informed on best practices and resources that support secure, efficient, and transparent elections for our community. 🇺🇸

The City’s Mosquito Abatement operations will begin Tuesday, May 26, 2026. Spraying will take place twice weekly throughout the municipal service area until all areas have been covered. Following the initial schedule, spraying will be provided as needed through resident call-in requests.

Important Note for Beekeepers: If you are a beekeeper, please notify the Public Works Department at 843-665-3236. As a Bee City USA affiliate, the City wants to be mindful of hive locations to avoid any potential impact.
