Great being in Austin today to honor the life, courage, and sacrifice of U.S. Navy SEAL Nathan Gage Ingram of Trophy Club with our state’s highest military distinction, the Texas Legislative Medal of Honor.

It was one of the greatest honors of my service in the Legislature to pass the resolution recognizing Gage’s extraordinary heroism and ultimate sacrifice. Today, alongside his family, friends, the Governor, and Texans from across our state, we ensure his legacy will never be forgotten.

Gage represented the very best of Texas and the very best of America. May we always remember his courage, his service, and the sacrifice he made for our nation.

Back in Austin today for a House Pensions, Investments & Financial Services Committee hearing.

We’re hearing directly from the Teacher Retirement System of Texas and the Employees Retirement System of Texas about the long-term financial health of the retirement systems thousands of Texas teachers, public servants, and retirees depend on.

Keeping these systems strong, stable, and accountable is critical to honoring the commitments Texas has made to those who served our state.

Yesterday, I had the honor of joining Gov. Greg Abbott and First Lady Cecilia Abbott for the opening of Bob’s House of Hope, the nation’s first safe house exclusively for male survivors of human trafficking.

Texas continues to lead the nation in the fight against human trafficking. I’m proud to have worked the last two sessions to strengthen our laws, hold traffickers accountable, and protect victims.

Bob’s House of Hope is a reminder that our work doesn’t end with an arrest. It continues by helping survivors find hope, healing, and a path forward. Texas will always stand with survivors.

Another victory in the fight against human trafficking.

Proud to see the Denton County Sheriff’s Office putting the law we passed to work. My legislation strengthened Texas’ ability to revoke licenses and shut down illicit massage parlors that serve as fronts for prostitution, human trafficking, and organized crime.

Four are already closed. Six more are headed toward closure.

These dens of sin don’t belong in our communities. We’ll keep working with law enforcement to drive them out of Texas for good.

Last session, we took a major step toward fixing that.

🔹 Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD: $19.3 million staying in CFBISD

🔹 Lewisville ISD: $10.3 million staying in LISD

🔹 Northwest ISD: 100% elimination of projected recapture!! ($13.7 million staying in NISD)

That’s YOUR local tax dollars staying in YOUR school district classrooms to support students, teachers, and schools instead of being sent elsewhere.

I’ve always stood against recapture, and I’ll continue fighting until we eliminate it for good.
